Bred by Joyce Wild out of Wildwood's Where's Waldo and Wildwood's Ruby Slippers, Whisper carries the Wildwood bloodline and is merle tri colour with brindle. She's still with Joyce today, breeder and owner, fifteen years on.

No titles claimed on his record, just fifteen years of a line staying findable: sire, dam, breeder, and now this photo. That's the registry doing its job.

Evolution's Zeus turns 16 today.

Registration 1925-10. Born 18 August 2010, white and brindle. Sire Evolution's High Voltage "Static", dam LGK's Live Wire "Electra". Bred by Brian Miller of Evolution Bulldogges, owned by Fahad Alsultan.

He was not alone that day. The registry holds 17 Olde English Bulldogges born 18 August 2010, every one bred by Brian Miller, every one sired by Evolution's High Voltage. Two litters, two dams, one whelping date. Ten out of LGK's Live Wire "Electra" and seven out of LGK's Black Sunshine "Sunny".

Zeus's siblings on record include Evolution's Ivy, Evolution's Unsinkable Molly Brown, Evolution's Bluto Bolen and Evolution's Tesla Coil. On the Black Sunshine side, Evolution's Mambo and Evolution's Salvation.

Read the names in order and the theme gives itself away. High Voltage out of Live Wire, and a puppy called Tesla Coil.

Sixteen years on it is all still there, whelping date and all, because somebody wrote it down at the time.

Ten years is long enough that a dog stops being current and starts being history. The only reason anyone can pull up his sire, his dam and the kennel behind him today is that somebody registered him in the first place. That is the whole job here. Honoring the Olde Bulldogge's past. Protecting its future.

Seventeen years ago today, Mischief's Mad Max was born.

A white and fawn male out of Charlie Brown and Mischief's My Blue Heaven, bred by Terri Smith on the Mischief AZ line, owned by Wayne McCracken. Registration 4381-13.

No titles on his record. No notes. A dog, a date, a pairing, and a photo under a tree, held somewhere the line behind him stays traceable. That is most of what a registry actually does, and it only works if somebody makes the entry.

Two kennel names carry that record. King's on the sire, Kennedy and King's on the dam. A registered name is not decoration. It says who bred the dog and whose program stood behind her, and it is still saying it today.
