🐾 Meet Chester! Your Next Adventure Buddy! 🐾
Chester just turned ONE in February, and this handsome boy is full of life, love, and personality! ❤️ He is very much loved by his family, but with long work hours and the kids having moved away, they know he deserves more time, attention, and activity than they can currently give him. Sometimes, loving a dog means recognizing when another home might be a better fit, and Chester is looking for that next chapter.
Let’s be honest: Chester is a LOT of dog in one adorable package! 😂 He has tons of energy, loves attention, and can be pretty demanding when he wants someone to focus on him. He’s a jumper, and that’s been a difficult habit to break, so he’ll need a family willing to continue working on his manners and training. He’s a smart boy who already knows how to sit and give paw, and with consistency, patience, and plenty of exercise, he has so much potential!
Chester would do best as the only dog in an adult home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely burn off his endless energy. Are you a runner looking for a four-legged workout buddy? Chester might be your guy! 🏃♂️ He would love an active person who can keep him busy, give him a job to do, and make him part of their everyday adventures.
He tends to prefer men, although he has shown love for his family’s 18-year-old daughter, too. He is loyal, affectionate, and wants to be close to his people. He prefers sleeping in bed with his humans and can become anxious when left alone. When he does need to be home alone, he must be crated because his curious nose and busy mind can get him into trouble with small objects around the house!
Speaking of that nose, Chester has quite the adventurous streak! He’s managed to run off twice, so a securely fenced yard is a must. When he’s outside an enclosed area, he needs to be kept safely on a leash or lead. His new family will need to be diligent about keeping him secure while continuing to work on his training.
Chester isn’t looking for a perfect family. He’s looking for the right family — one who understands that young dogs can be challenging, who will provide structure and exercise, and who will love his big personality as much as his big heart. ❤️
