ADOPT (MEET N GREETS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY)
We are not a shelter and don't have an adoption center for visitors. All cats are in private foster homes waiting to be adopted. With an approved adoption application, we can set up a meet n greet. Mama cats Jill & Roo and their babies were rescued right around the end of March. Babies were only 5-7 days old. 8 babies born at the lake but one passed before it got to foster care. Altogether, we rescued 12 kittens and cats (2 moms, 3 young males under a year (Jamie, Joey, Junior), Poppa, and 7 neonates). The babies are now 8-9 weeks old and growing like weeds (Bob, Sabrina, Hank, Tinkerbell, Tansy, Rei Lilly, and Cash). We’d love to find furever homes for the whole gang sooner rather than later. Super social crew! Kittens are accepting applications for pre-adoption and can have meet n greets set up. Jill and one girl are going to be trying out a foster to adopt with a Sparkle alum adopter. Pablo / Poppa had a vet visit last Friday to see if he had a urinary tract infection. He doesn’t! Yay! He does however have itchy skin he’s been dealing with since rescue so he’s going to start a trial of prescription food. I’m not sure the cost of that special food yet. The cost of his visit last Friday was $127.50 at Park Veterinary Hospital in Durham, Nc. We pay all our bills at time of service and do not get billed. We’d love to raise the funds to replenish our account and any funds raised over that go towards his future needs. And any raised over future needs go towards the general vet fund.

Poppa has been an expensive kitty since rescue late March with 11 other cats found abandoned at Lake Macintosh in Burlington NC. He’s felv/fiv+ as well and a special needs we were so fortunate to find a fabulous foster home with Tara in Durham, NC. He’s thriving under her care and is loved and adored by all.

Lea and Fiona enjoy spending a lot of time safe in the comfort of a custom built catio at their foster home when they aren’t inside in air conditioning. It’s a most popular place for them and resident kitties at foster mom and dad’s home in Graham, NC. Foster dad built the catio a few years ago and it was enjoyed by Sparkle Alum kitties Calvin & Hobbes who were adopted to a fabulous home.

Lea and Fiona are a purrfect pair of kitties, just at a year old now and in foster care since they were babies. Oh yes, there has been interest but not in adopting and keeping them together.

They are incredibly sweet girls. Good with foster parent’s cats and dog. Fiona loves hanging out in the catio and playing with tails. Lea loves cardboard boxes and really long naps.

Foster mom Katherine provided an assessment on little Juniper:
“I’ve done a couple of basic checks. Her vision is very similar to someone with cataracts in that everything is dulled. She does better with high contrast but can see movement VERY well. She doesn’t jump at all and her climbing is uncoordinated. She still has a little bit of an ulcer in her left eye, but nothing like what it was when she was trapped. She doesn’t like very low light or very bright light - I think her pupils may have trouble dilating and contracting, or at least do it very slowly. And she’s clingy like you would not believe.”

Update: $195 raised towards her visit to last week to examine eyes, get meds and dewormed. $159.86 for that visit. We had to get more eye drops Saturday so another $35.86. ($195.72 total).

Just finished at the clinic with getting 5 of the 7 lake crews vaccinated. Tinkerbell isn’t even 2 lbs (she’s 1.12 lb), and Tansy has an ulcer in her mouth so we need to wait on her and have her on antibiotics. Other than that, they are all healthy babies! Biggest one of the crew is Hank at 2.42 lbs! The boys will be big when they grow up. They also got microchipped today. Today’s clinic bill was $70 (all we pay for are vax at not an office visit!) if you’d like to donate. We haven’t done sponsorship postings yet but do plan to. I had wanted to officially name them.

🐈‍⬛ Adorable little HANK is one of the 7 lake kittens that just turned 8 weeks old. Rescued at 5-7 days old after being found with two mama cats, 3 young males under a year and 1 adult male.

As you can see, he is a super handsome and inquisitive boy. He is also very social, playful, smart and loving. He loves playing with his siblings. A home with another cat is a must, or for him to be adopted with a sibling.
