Mission Statement
Team Rocky Enterprises Inc is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of Great Danes, Great Dane mixes, and other breeds that have been abused, neglected, and/or abandoned. We are also dedicated to the education of pet guardians and citizens as to the needs of domesticated animals to maintain balanced, healthy lives. Our Origin โ€” Rockyโ€™s Story
We were founded in honor and memory of Rocky, a Great Dane we tried desperately to save in June 2013. Despite all our efforts and offers of rehabilitation, Rocky was irresponsibly and needlessly euthanized on June 12, 2013. From that day on, every dog we rescue receives the care and love that Rocky was tragically denied. For those who donโ€™t know Rockyโ€™s story:
Rocky was a 3-year-old Great Dane, owner-surrendered on June 1, 2013, to the Hernando County Animal Shelter in Brooksville, Florida, after reportedly biting the ownerโ€™s boyfriend. They requested euthanasia after a mandatory 10-day quarantine. This was the same owner who had adopted Rocky from that very shelter back in May 2010, along with a female Dane named Emma. At that time, a rescue had tagged both Rocky and Emma, but while awaiting transport, the shelter allowed them to be adopted out separately โ€” canceling all rescue plans. When Rocky was surrendered again in 2013, we were ready to place him on a beautiful, fully fenced 7-acre ranch where he would have been the only dog, safe and given every opportunity to rehabilitate. We offered our rescue services to the shelter vet and sent animal behavior specialists to assess him, but they refused. Tragically, Rockyโ€™s chance at a loving life ended when the shelter ignored our pleas and he was euthanized. Because of Rockyโ€™s untimely end, Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab was born. Our mission expanded to not only rescue, rehab, and re-home Great Danes, Great Dane mixes, and other giant breeds that have been failed by humans โ€” but also to educate pet guardians and the public. By doing so, we help reduce overpopulation and needless euthanasia, especially in high-kill shelters.

Mr. Bane is a big boy with an even BIGGER heart. Unfortunately, his prey drive has resulted in the loss of some of his current foster's chickens, and he needs to move as soon as possible. NO CHICKENS in Bane's future home!

But let's talk about the boy behind those soulful eyes. ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’™

Bane is FULL of love and wants nothing more than to be as close to his people as physically possible. And when we say close, we mean he might genuinely believe he's a weighted blanket. ๐Ÿ˜‚ If he can sit halfway on top of you while you watch a movie, he's living his best life!

This handsome guy loves fetch, tug-of-war, treats, snuffle mats, water, mud, and wrestling with his canine siblings. He's food-motivated, knows several basic commands, is house-trained, and gets along well with medium and large dogs. He's got plenty of energy for backyard zoomies, but he can settle nicely indoors with a good chew and, preferably, a human to snuggle.

๐Ÿ’” Bane does have some challenges, and he needs someone willing to work through them.

He struggles with significant separation and kennel anxiety, so a home where someone is around most of the time would be ideal. He's also a strong puller on leash and has a prey drive that means cats and smaller animals aren't a safe bet. His enthusiasm can be a lot, too, so a home with young children would need careful management.

Bane is currently receiving medication for his anxiety, and he'll need a patient person willing to continue helping him build confidence and learn.

Because underneath all that anxiety is a dog who wants to trust someone. A dog who leans into you, rests his head on you, and looks at you with those heartbreaking eyes like he's finally starting to believe life might be good after all. ๐Ÿ’™

Bane doesn't need to be perfect. He needs the RIGHT person.

Someone who's home often. Someone who understands that progress takes time. Someone who wants a goofy, affectionate, toy-loving shadow who will happily spend the day playing fetch and the evening practically sitting in their lap.

Dallas has spent a YEAR AND THREE MONTHS in rescue, waiting for someone to decide she's the one. Fifteen months of being a good girl, loving her people, playing with her toys, and hoping that her forever family is out there somewhere.

And now, through no fault of her own, Dallas needs a new foster or adopter ASAP. Her current foster's work schedule has changed significantly, and frequent travel means it's time for Dallas to find her next landing spot.

This sweet, outgoing girl is a professional cuddler, a dedicated toy enthusiast, and a certified Velcro dog. Want a buddy for your walks? She's in. Someone to play tug-of-war with? Absolutely. A giant snuggle buddy who thinks your bed is the best place to sleep? Dallas has you covered. And if you stop giving her attention, don't be surprised if she gently cobs at your hand to remind you that she's right there. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’œ

Dallas has a moderate energy level. She enjoys playing and spending time with her people, but she also knows how to settle down and relax. She's house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and gets along with medium and large dogs, male or female. She could also live with dog-savvy cats.

She's asking for a family willing to give her time to settle in, let her personality shine, and love her for the sweet, affectionate girl she is.

Hercules and Nova were surrendered to Brownsville Animal Regulation & Care Center in Olmito, TX, and they need a foster or adopter by OCTOBER 21, 2026. Time is running short, and these two deserve the chance to start over.

Nova is a happy-go-lucky girl who loves people, attention, and affection. She looks to humans for comfort and reassurance, and despite the changes she's been through, she remains sweet, friendly, and eager to connect. She's ready to leave shelter life behind and find someone to love.

๐Ÿ’™ MEET HERCULES โ€” ALMOST 4 YEARS OLD

Hercules is Nova's brother, but he's handling shelter life very differently. He's incredibly sweet, yet the stress has left him fearful and shut down. He allows staff to pet him but is hesitant to leave his kennel. Hercules needs a patient, understanding person willing to give him time, consistency, and a safe place to rebuild his confidence.

He doesn't need someone to expect him to be brave overnight. He needs someone willing to help him feel safe.

Armando greeted male and female dogs politely and stayed calm even when a playful puppy bounced around him while he rested in the grass. Heโ€™s a quiet, low-energy boy who needs patience and a chance to build confidence.

When you leave your dog at boarding, you know youโ€™re coming back.

Rufusโ€™s owner never did.

For more than SEVEN MONTHS, Kingwood Pet Resort Boarding & Grooming has been his entire world. The staff have fed him, cared for him and continued showing up for a dog whose person stopped showing up.

But even caring staff cannot give him everything he lost.

An angel human at the facility reached out for help. She even purchased a DNA test to learn more about him, and Rufusโ€™s results are back! Turns out, this handsome guy is pretty much a whole lot of different mastiff breeds mixed together. ๐Ÿ˜‚โค๏ธ

She also found a medical sponsor to cover his neuter, vaccinations and heartworm screening, scheduled for October 24. Rufus has been receiving flea, tick and heartworm prevention, but his heartworm status is currently unknown.

People are working hard to give Rufus a future. Now he needs someone willing to be part of it.

He may not look like the Danes we usually share, but we couldnโ€™t turn away from his story. Breed labels aside, he's a young dog who deserves a family of his own.
