TURKEY POST
If you’re wanting to have your bird mounted. I will try to answer all of your questions, Feel free to reach out if I didn’t cover something.
The most important thing to getting a great turkey mount is on you and how you handle the shot and the flopping. Head up. No strut. After the shot grab him by the top of his head till he is done flopping. Not head and neck feathers.. DONT STEP ON the bird.

If your on the road and need to know how to preserve a turkey for shipping or traveling. If you want to skin it out yourself, please reach out and I will send you a video on how to do it.
If you wanna keep your bird whole. I prefer for you not to gut it. Wrap his head in paper towels, place a quart size baggie over the head and zip tie or tape the bag around the head, WITHOUT getting the neck feathers in the tape. Leave the bird whole and triple bag it. Lay it in a cooler big enough to fit him on top of a bag of ice. Don’t bust the ice bag open. Try to keep your turkey dry AND take care of the tail. You Can put a piece of cardboard board over it and tape it shut to protect it

If you’re mailing a bird here frozen. Make sure he has been frozen at least four days in the freezer. Mail it on a Monday and as long as he arrives by Friday he will be fine. You don’t have to overnight. The black plastic tote from Lowe’s with the yellow lid works great. Has little holes to zip tie shut. You can insulate around the bird with packing paper or old towel or old sheets, whatever you can do to keep him from moving around. You do not need to add dry ice or ice packs when mailing. It takes a bird 3 days to thaw and then another 3 to go bad.

We take a $350 deposit at drop off and the rest of the payment is due when I start on the turkey. You’ll receive a text 2-3 days before I take the bird out to give you a heads up.

I use cast or freeze dried heads. Whatever you prefer. I prefer cast. Freeze dry can be used at an additional cost.

We will be offering feather art this year as well.
