Dusty has been a little lost since Cheddars passing. We trapped Dusty, his 3 littermates and his mom last fall. Once he was big enough to graduate from the quarantine room, he immediately took to Cheddar. They would always snuggle together and since Cheddar has been gone, Dusty keeps going to their snuggle spot and meowing and looking for him. He roams around meowing and looking everywhere. We let him smell some of the fur clippings we have of Cheddar and he kept rubbing his head all over them. He’s mourning just as much as the humans. 🙏🏼

It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we have to share we lost our special needs boy Cheddar today.

He went to the vet on June 30th for x rays to ensure that he his organs looked good as he’s had some medical issues that we were trying to get some answers on. His x rays looked great and no signs of anything major.

Yesterday he started having trouble breathing and was even open mouth breathing a little. We called the emergency vet and during that time his breathing stabilized. He has an appointment for tomorrow morning to get bloodwork and other necessary tests done. He was moving around a little today, drank some water and ate a little but mostly he was laying down but still breathing hard. We called again the they said to go ahead and bring him in. To our surprise his x rays showed so much fluid in his chest his heart wasn’t even visible in the x ray. He was placed in an oxygen box to help but he was still having difficulty breathing. We had to make the very difficult decision to let him go. We couldn’t allow him to suffer.

He is going to be very missed. 💔🙏🏼

RIP Sweet Cheddar Biscuit.
