🐾Meet Lil Bit & Charlie - A Bonded Pair Looking for a Quiet Forever Home

Lil Bit is a 12-year-old female Chihuahua with a gentle soul and a whole lot of love to give. This sweet little lady enjoys the simple things in life...soft beds, calm surroundings, and being close to her person. She does have a bit of food protectiveness when it comes to human food, so she’ll do best in a home that understands her boundaries and can provide a consistent routine.

Lil Bit gets along well with other dogs and cats and would thrive in a calm, low-traffic home where she can relax and feel safe. Before she is ready for adoption, Lil Bit will need to see a veterinarian to ensure she’s happy and healthy for her next chapter.

She is deeply bonded to her best friend, Charlie, and we would like for them to be adopted together.

Charlie is a 15-year-old male Chihuahua who has been through a lot in his life. After being abandoned by an older man, he understandably feels uncomfortable around older men and will need a patient, understanding home that can respect his past and give him the time he needs to trust again.

Like Lil Bit, Charlie will also need a veterinary check before being available for adoption.

Together, Lil Bit and Charlie are a loving pair who just want a peaceful place to spend their golden years. If you have a quiet home and a big heart, these two would love nothing more than to curl up beside you and finally feel safe and loved.

Give these seniors the second chance they deserve, you’ll be rewarded with endless love in return.

🐾Welcome back Gypsy🐾

Gypsy is a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd with a loving heart and a loyal spirit. She recently returned to our care after spending a year in a home due to unforeseen family circumstances, and she's now looking for a forever family to call her own.

This sweet girl forms strong bonds with her people and loves being by their side. Gypsy is affectionate, gentle with children, and enjoys spending time with her family. Like many German Shepherds, she is naturally protective and devoted to her person, making her a wonderful companion for someone seeking a loyal best friend.

Gypsy would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can enjoy all the attention and companionship she deserves. She is housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, and knows basic commands, giving her a great foundation for continued success in her new home.

If you're looking for a smart, loving, and faithful companion, Gypsy may be the perfect match. She's ready to start her next chapter with a family that will cherish her as much as she'll cherish them. ❤️🐕

🏆🐾 This is pretty incredible. 🐾🏆

Bracken County Animal Shelter has been named a Best of Kentucky Regional Award Winner in the Pets & Animals category and we’re so grateful!

Around here, our days are usually filled with muddy paws, early mornings, second chances, and the kind of quiet victories that don’t always make headlines...a shy dog learning to trust, a long-stay dog finally finding their forever, or a community member helping out when it's needed the most.

This award may have our name on it, but it tells YOUR story.

It belongs to the families who choose adoption.
To the fosters who open their homes (and their hearts).
To the volunteers who show up, rain or shine.
To every single person who has shared a post, made a donation, or cheered us on along the way.

Thank you, Bracken County, for believing in what we do and for helping us give these animals the lives they deserve. ❤️
