Please CROSS POST and help us find a home for Wally 🐾💕
( located in Ardsley, NY)

Who’s ready to share their heart (and home) with this lovebug? 🐾 🩵

Wally is ready to win over a new family with his big heart and gentle soul. He’s a sweet 6-year-old, 65-pound brindle hound mix who loves nothing more than being close to his people. As long as he gets his two daily walks, he’s perfectly content to relax in his bed or curl up next to you for cuddles, though he’s always up for hikes or backyard adventures on nice days.

Wally is a fully housebroken, intelligent, eager-to-please boy who learns quickly and is highly motivated by praise and treats.

Wally is a sensitive guy who has learned to deal with his anxiety through extensive professional training. He is living in a home with a new baby, but the increased noise and activity has become stressful to him. His family was truly hoping the new addition would not upset him, but sadly it has. Because of this, Wally would do best as the only pet in a calm, adult-only home.

Wally can be left alone freely for many hours. He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped.
He is currently in Ardsley, NY, and supplies and detailed guidance will be provided to make his transition successful.

Wally has so much love to give and is ready to shine in a home where he can feel safe, understood, and at ease. If you’re interested in making Wally part of your family, please reach out to 914-573-4577 or [email protected] to discuss next steps. 🫶

You walk through it in seconds. They spend their whole lives there. 🌍
THE CHIPMUNK: Her territory: maybe 30-50 feet.
She knows every root. Every hiding spot. Every competitor.
Your yard isn't a yard to her. It's everything.
THE ROBIN: That same corner of lawn. Every year.
She nests there. Raises babies. Feeds there.
She might do that for 5-10 years. Same corner.
THE TOAD: Born in that pond. Left for 2-3 years.
Returned to breed. Will die near the same water.
Your decorative pond? His ancestral home.
THE SCALE: You see a small backyard.
They see:
Hunting grounds
Nesting sites
Food sources
Predator zones
Water access
Shelter
A universe in 1/4 acre.
THE IMPACT: Spray pesticides? You poison their world.
Remove a brush pile? You destroy shelter.
Cut down that tree? You erase a home.
THE GIFT: You can ignore them. You can harm them without knowing.
Or you can notice.
Leave the leaves. Skip the pesticides. Keep the brush pile.
You're a god in their universe.
Be a kind one.

PSA for turtles. Long read and worth it. Learning points:
This is a good reminder of our rule of thumb when encountering turtles:
- If a turtle is crossing the road, simply move them across the road in the direction they were already facing.
- Only remove a turtle from the area if they are injured and need a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.

For his 88th birthday, Morgan Freeman chose compassion over luxury. Instead of a lavish celebration, the legendary actor donated $11 million to build a sanctuary for stray and abandoned dogs — a safe haven where neglected animals can finally experience love and care. 🐾❤️

This sanctuary will be more than just a shelter. It will provide food, medical treatment, and a peaceful environment for dogs to heal, offering second chances through adoption or, at the very least, a life of dignity free from fear.

Freeman’s gesture reminds us that true legacy isn’t found in awards or fame, but in the kindness we extend to the most vulnerable. 🌟
