🚨 URGENT PLACEMENT NEEDED 🚨

Meet Lucy, aka Lucinda, Lucifer, or our personal favorite, Cinnamon Roll! ❤️🐾

Lucy is a 3.5 year old, 60 lb pit bull mix who has been with her owner since she was just a puppy. Now, she urgently needs a new place to call home.

Lucy is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, house trained, and crate trained. She knows several commands, has worked with a professional trainer, and has a medium energy level.

❤️ A few things to know about Lucy:
🐾 Wonderful with older kids
🐾 Must be the only pet
🐾 Loves car rides, belly rubs, whipped cream, squeaky toys, and sleeping under blankets!

🚨TAZZ IS FACING HOMELESSNESS🚨

Please apply if you are serious about taking him. He needs to be the only pet in the home. No young children simply due to size!!!

Tazz 🥹💙

Meet Tazz, a handsome 5-6 year old boy weighing about 63 pounds who is looking for a fresh start. 💔 His owner has had him since he was just 2 months old, but due to experiencing homelessness, they can no longer provide the stability Tazz deserves.

Now, Tazz needs someone willing to give him a chance.

🐶 A little about Tazz:
🐾 5–6 years old
🐾 Male, not neutered (we can help)
🐾 Up to date on his rabies vaccine
🐾 House-trained and crate-trained
🐾 Knows sit, up, high five, and no!
🐾 Walks well on a leash, although he may pull sometimes
🐾 Medium energy level

❤️ What makes Tazz happy?
Give this boy a field to run around in and a nylon bone to chew on, and he’s in his element! He has a lot of love to give and is a super sweet dog.

🏡 The home Tazz needs:
Tazz needs to be the only pet in the home. His compatibility with children is unknown, he’s never been around them. He will need a responsible adopter who understands his needs and can provide a safe, structured environment.

Tazz has spent nearly his entire life with the same person. Through no fault of his own, his circumstances are changing, and he deserves the chance to start his next chapter with someone who will love him for the rest of his life. ❤️

Suki is a 4 year old Frenchie. She’s laid back, cuddly, and loves her people, toys, snacks, and spending time outside. 🫶🏻

Suki is house trained and spayed. She knows how to sit and give her paw, especially when treats are involved! She enjoys cuddling just as much as she enjoys running around and playing with her toys.

🏡 Suki’s ideal home:
• Children 10+ or adult only home
• No dogs — she previously had a negative experience
• No cats — she doesn’t love them, although she has not shown aggression toward them
• Someone who understands and respects her boundaries

Suki can be a little particular about how she’s approached. With new people, she does best when she’s allowed to come to you first before being pet. Once she trusts you, she enjoys affection and cuddling. ❤️

Her family has had her for approximately 3 years and is looking to rehome her because they are traveling frequently and are no longer able to accommodate her needs.

This sweet girl is Zuri 🥹🩷, an approximately 8 month old pittie pup who was found roaming and has been in her current situation for about two months. She is house trained, crate trained, and has some basic training under her belt. Most importantly, she absolutely LOVES attention and wants to be around her people!

✨ Zuri’s details:
• 🐶 8 months old
• ❤️ Dog friendly — currently lives with a medium-sized dog
• 🐱Never met a cat
• 👧 Kid friendly — lives with children

🚨 SOS: PABLO NEEDS SOMEONE NOW. 🚨

“Pablo has been dealt a really, really crappy hand.

He was living 24/7 in a crate outdoors, with obvious skin issues, until a Good Samaritan convinced his owner to surrender him. (No, animal control was not called.) That person took Pablo in with the very best intentions, but quickly realized his medical needs were more than he could manage alone and started reaching out for help.

Our friend Amanda from Army’s Legacy Animal Rescue And Sanctuary, Inc. contacted us, and together we were able to connect Pablo’s caregiver with Meow Inc, who generously covered his initial veterinary care. ❤️

Pablo has now started several medications and treatments to help his poor skin heal, and we are still waiting on some test results from that visit. He is not contagious to people, but until we have all of his results back, we would recommend either:

* a home where Pablo can be the only pet, or
* a home able to maintain a strict quarantine from other animals.

And here’s the part we weren’t expecting:

The man currently caring for Pablo has had an emergency, and Pablo needs an immediate foster or foster-to-adopt home; like TODAY. We are also open to immediate rescue placement, if appropriate.

We truly thought we had more time to put the pieces together for this boy. We don’t.

Pablo is sweet, well behaved, and such a good boy. He is around four years old and about 50 lbs. He has already survived being forgotten in a crate. He has finally started getting the care he desperately needed.

We cannot let his story fall apart now.

Please help us keep the promise that people have already started making to him.

Pablo the Good Boy needs somewhere safe to land. Immediately.

The update you’ve all been waiting for… but first, we need to say something.

Dino’s post got A LOT of attention. Unfortunately, a good portion of that attention was people bashing BARC, making assumptions, and commenting without actually reading the post or knowing what was going on.

Meanwhile, our volunteers were working around the clock trying to keep this dog alive.

So we’re going to be blunt:

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR AN OWNER-TO-OWNER DOG IF YOU ARE NOT 100% SERIOUS.

We wasted an unbelievable amount of time on applications from people who were not actually ready to help.

“I need to talk to my spouse.”

Talk to them BEFORE you apply.

“I’ll get back to you.”

Then we never hear from you again.

“I can meet in a few days.”

We don’t have a few days.

Owner-to-Owner dogs are not sitting comfortably in a rescue waiting for the perfect home. They have limited time. And yes, that means they are at risk of euthanasia.

That is not BARC’s decision.

We are trying to save them.

But here’s the reality people don’t want to hear:

WHERE ARE THESE DOGS SUPPOSED TO GO?

We constantly see comments saying, “Try this rescue!” “Call this shelter!” “There has to be somewhere!”

WHERE?

If there is a rescue or shelter with an open kennel and a foster home ready to take these dogs, PLEASE tell us. We would love nothing more than to have endless places to send them.

The reality is that there aren’t.

Every once in a while, another rescue can step up. And when they do, we are incredibly grateful. But this is happening EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

There are more dogs needing help than there are foster homes, kennels and rescues with space.

Dogs get turned away because there is no room.

Dogs get euthanized because there is nowhere for them to go.

Even shelters that call themselves “no-kill” have limits.

We know that’s an uncomfortable reality. It’s uncomfortable for us too. But pretending it doesn’t happen doesn’t save dogs.

Now, the part you’ve ALL been waiting for…

DINO IS SAFE. 🥹🤍

Thanks to our incredible volunteers — and especially Mike, who stepped up and took a chance on this terrified dog — Dino is heading to his forever home.

We are praying this works out because, quite honestly, this was Dino’s last shot.

Mike, you saved his life.

And we also want to recognize Jennifer N.

Jenn applied for Dino and went to meet him. The meeting didn’t go as expected. Dino didn’t immediately warm up to her.

And you know what Jenn did?

She didn’t give up.

She offered to try again. She offered to put Dino in a hotel to buy him a few more days and give them another chance.

That is what actually helping a dog looks like.

Thank you, Jenn, for taking this seriously. For understanding that a terrified dog may not immediately run into your arms. And for being willing to try.

We hope we get the chance to have you adopt another BARC dog someday. 🤍

But tonight, we’re celebrating Dino.
