I’m a little late sharing this, but I wanted to give y’all a little update. 🤍

When we got Halo back and received all of her paw prints and the keepsakes from the cremation place, I let Simba have his own little moment with the box Halo came home in. 🥺🐾

He took some time to smell it, and then he gave Halo one last little lick. 😩🥹🥰 And honestly, I can’t help but think it was meant for her little lip flaps, because that was always his favorite place to give her kisses. 🥹🤍

That moment absolutely broke my heart, but at the same time, it was such a sweet little moment between them. I truly think Simba knew she was home. 🐾🌈🤍

Simba p*ed on the floor last night, which is something he **never** does. And honestly, I can’t help but think there was a reason behind it. 💔

Halo used to come back and p*e in that exact spot, so part of me wonders if Simba was marking where she had been. Or maybe, in his own way, he was trying to get her attention… hoping she would come out so he could see his best friend again. 🥺

It absolutely breaks my heart looking at Simba and realizing Halo isn’t right beside him anymore. They were together **24/7**. They ate together, slept together, followed each other around, and were just… always together.

Now I look at him and can’t help but feel like he’s wondering where she went. Like he’s missing a piece of his world that he doesn’t understand is never coming back. 😞💔

So for now, Simba has me. And I’ll be right by his side through all of this. He may have lost his best friend, but he will never have to feel alone. 🤍🐾

You are going to be so incredibly missed. 😞 Not seeing you curled up in your recliner anymore is already breaking my heart. It’s only been a few hours, but the house already feels so much emptier without you here. 💔

You were such a sweet, loving girl, and you didn’t deserve to leave us quite yet. 🥺 I wish we had more time with you, but sometimes life has other plans, no matter how badly we wish we could change them.

Thank you for all the love, comfort, and memories you gave us. You will forever have a special place in our hearts. 🤍
