Oscar's 1/2 brother, out of the same mare. What a guy, very cool. đź’•
This lovely boy Mount Briscoe Bendigo took 1st in his class yesterday which I was super pleased about. He was pulled in third and moved up the line which is no mean feat in showing, he then went on to take Supreme Champion of the Ridden Draughts.
Sensational surprise frankly. Bendigo was up against the best of the best of producers, breeders and the quality in all classes was outstanding.
He is a small hunter type with a huge heart and the nicest of temperaments.
Much like raising a child it takes a village to raise a horse with so many hands having a part to play and a good dose of luck thrown in for good measure. As judging is so very personal and subjective.
And to get any horse ready avd fit so early in the season is also an achievement.
Thank you to all the hands that brought Bendigo to Balmoral success, for being such a pro and ultra nice, Dee his back of house is a star who didn’t get the share in the glory and all Shane’s team including his Dad.
To all the others along the journey namely who stood Angus (stable name of Bendigo’s sire (Lionswood Kinsale Lad) I am grateful because she got the my mare pregnant in the first place . Thank you and of as he stood another equally great Moylough Bouncer sire of Bendigo’s dam Mount Briscoe Gaelle Lough.
So many others that scan , load, support the breeding season and all the other bits like farriers and all the small cogs that make yesterday happen. I can’t convey how deeply proud of this lovely horse I am, simply chuffed for him and his connections and humbled by so many great entries. They were all winners
Wishing him, Shane and all the other entries the very best of show season for 2026 x
