💕 1 year. 9 months. 15 days. 💕
That is how long Amelia and Peyton waited for someone to finally say…
“You’re coming home with me.” 🥹❤️
And today, it finally happened.
For 1 year, 9 months, and 15 days, these two beautiful girls waited together. Amelia is Peyton’s mama, but they are so much more than mother and daughter. They are best friends. They are each other’s comfort, companion, and constant — and through every single day of their long wait, they had each other.
And now, they get to have their forever together, too. ❤️
It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to say goodbye to cats who have been part of our lives for this long. We’ve watched Amelia and Peyton sleep curled up together, ask for affection, roll over for their beloved belly rubs, and somehow always know when treats were involved. 😂 We’ve loved them through every day they waited and wondered when someone else would see in them what we have always seen.
Two incredibly sweet, affectionate, beautiful souls who deserved a home of their own.
There were so many days when we wished we could explain to them why they were still waiting. Why people came and went while they remained. We could only keep loving them and promise that somewhere out there, their family simply hadn’t found them yet.
Today, they did. 🏡🐾
Our hearts are feeling so many things tonight. We are going to miss our girls more than we can possibly say. Their favorite spots will look a little empty. We’ll miss those sweet faces, those belly-rub requests, and two little sets of eyes that seldom turned down the opportunity for a treat.
But underneath the sadness of saying goodbye is an overwhelming amount of happiness.
Because tonight, Amelia and Peyton aren’t waiting anymore.
They have a family.
They have a home.
They have each other.
And after 1 year, 9 months, and 15 days, our sweet girls finally have the forever they have always deserved. ❤️
Happy adoption day, Amelia & Peyton.
Thank you for letting us love you while you waited. It has been an absolute privilege.
We will miss you terribly, but we wouldn’t trade this goodbye for anything in the world.
Go live your happily ever after, girls. You waited long enough. 🥹🐾🏡❤️.
