Our boy Oscar is back. He met his new family for adoption and they loved him, but it didn’t work out. We are looking for his furever home again. He is the best boy and this just breaks my heart. He has already lost so much. Please don't let him lose his chance at a forever home, too.

He had a previous FCE (spinal stroke) and has a few minor deficits. He dribbles urine, so he wears a belly band. The important part?He doesn’t have accidents in the house and these things don’t slow him down from enjoying life. The vet has confirmed that his condition will not worsen or shorten his lifespan.

He’s affectionate, loves being with people, and asks for so little in return. Despite everything he’s been through, he still chooses to trust, love, and aims to please. He runs, fetches, likes laying in the grass, follows commands, and knows tricks.

Oscar needs is a forever home with someone who is around much of the time, rather than being left alone for long stretches. A fenced backyard would be wonderful — somewhere he can safely hang out, play fetch and simply be a dog. And maybe a sibling.

Oscar doesn't need someone to fix him. He just needs someone to love him exactly as he is.

🐶Foster #2 Oscar Adopted🐶
Always one of the happiest moments but also one of the hardest days of fostering.

When I first met this sweet boy, I was told he would probably be unadoptable. He had suffered a previous FCE and requires belly bands. But he didn’t let that define him or slow him down. He proved every doubt wrong. He is a gentle, goofy, incredibly loving, smart boy who deserves a family.

Well, he found his perfect match and will be going to a family who saw exactly what I saw in him💙

I’m going to miss him more than I can put into words. If my circumstances were different, he would have been my foster fail.

Thank you to everyone who shared his story, cheered him on, donated toward his care, and believed in him. You helped make this possible.

We need to find Oscar a furever home…soon!

He’s affectionate, loves being with people, and asks for so little in return. Despite everything he’s been through, he still chooses to trust, love, and aims to please. He runs, fetches, likes laying in the grass, follows commands, and knows tricks.

He had a previous FCE (spinal stroke) and has a few minor deficits. He dribbles urine, so he wears a belly band, and he poops while he’s walking outside, but doesn’t cause a mess on himself. The important part? He doesn’t have accidents in the house, and these things don’t slow him down from enjoying life.

He just needs someone who believes that being a little different doesn’t make him any less worthy of love. That and a backyard with a hose would make life a little easier.

There is someone out there whose heart is big enough to see past the belly band and see the wonderful dog underneath. We know that person exists. Every dog deserves a home. Especially the ones who need us the most. ❤️🐾

Since this handsome, super sweet boy has arrived, he has experienced hind leg weakness, no tail movement, and urine dribbling (very minimal). He had a neurology appt and MRI on Friday. The images were unfortunately consistent with an old spinal stroke (fce). Although he has some signs of this, he is unbothered and is a happy, active boy. There is no treatment for this and the symptoms won’t fully resolve, but they will not worsen and he can otherwise live a happy and healthy life. He doesn’t have accidents in the house other than the occasional urine drip, he runs and plays fetch, he knows tricks, and he gives so much love and joy to anyone he meets. I am confident he will find the perfect home even with this minor setback. I mean how can you say no to a face like this?
Of course the neurology appointment and MRI costs thousands of dollars. If you are able to and feel inclined to do so, please donate (include Oscar Meyer’s name on the donation):
