🐾❤️ Apparently I was so busy taking care of dogs… I completely MISSED National Dog Day! 😂 ❤️🐾

Two days late seems pretty on-brand for someone whose life revolves around dogs, so… better late than never!

You guys see A LOT of little faces come across this page, but I realized many of you may not know much about the three girls who never leave—the permanent residents behind Doodle Dude Rescue. ❤️

🐾 RORI — THE ONE WHO STARTED IT ALL

Rori is our 7-year-old Golden Mountain Doodle (Bernese Mountain Dog mom + Goldendoodle dad), although I usually just call her my Bernedoodle.

We’d had family members with doodles and loved the idea of a big dog with less shedding. We chose Rori out of 8+ puppies because of her beautiful eyes, and she had us from day one. ❤️

She started my obsession with everything doodle—the personalities, the different mixes and all the varieties out there.

Rori is our sweet, easygoing girl who just wants to sit beside you, keep you company and receive ALL the pets. Her other great love in life? 🍌 BANANAS. 😂

🐾 MARLI — THE SECOND CHILD 😂

Six months later we thought, “Rori is SO good… obviously the next one will be too!”

Enter Marli. 😂

Our Bernedoodle and somewhat impulse puppy quickly introduced us to second-child syndrome. Her casualties include a sectional, two dining room chairs and two pillows. 😬😂

Thankfully, she makes up for it by being the BIGGEST love bug. She stands on her back legs to give “hugs” and will climb into the recliner just to nestle in beside you.

And from day one, Rori and Marli have been like peas and carrots. 🫛🥕 They rarely leave each other’s side.

🐾 ELSIE — THE 150-LB LAP DOG

And then I threw the whole “less shedding” plan out the window. 😂

Great Danes were always another dream breed of mine, and eventually along came Elsie—our 150-pound lap dog who has absolutely ZERO concept of personal space.

She’ll sit ON you, demand cuddles, hog the bed and generally act like she weighs 15 pounds instead of 150.

She also has a boyfriend. 😂❤️

Our neighbors have a Vizsla named Boone, and almost daily Elsie wanders down our hill to visit him. Our neighbors love having her, so if she’s been suspiciously absent for a couple hours…

She’s probably at her boyfriend’s house. 😂

❤️ AND SOMEWHERE ALONG THE WAY…

My love for these dogs—starting with Rori and my obsession with doodles—eventually helped grow into what you all know today as Doodle Dude Rescue.

Now our home has a constantly changing cast of puppies coming through. We love them, care for them, give them ridiculous themed names 😂, find their people and eventually watch them head off to their forever homes.

But through every litter, every rescue and every puppy that passes through…

Rori, Marli & Elsie are HOME. 🏡❤️

They’re the permanent residents behind Doodle Dude Rescue and a huge part of how this whole crazy adventure began.

So here’s to celebrating National Dog Day two days late—which feels pretty appropriate around here. 😂🐾

🧸🍊 PLEASE LOOK AFTER THIS BEAR… MEET PADDINGTON! 🍊🧸

As if this week wasn’t already crazy enough, I had one more little surprise join Doodle Dude Rescue! ❤️🐾

Meet Paddington, an adorable 14-week-old male Yorkie who needed a little help finding his next destination.

And after meeting this sweet little guy, there really wasn’t a more fitting name. With his tiny size, fluffy teddy-bear face, and incredibly sweet personality, he reminded me of a certain little bear who showed up unexpectedly looking for a family of his own. 🧸❤️

🧸 MEET PADDINGTON

🐶 Paddington — 14-week-old Male Yorkshire Terrier

This little guy is an absolute SWEETHEART! ❤️ He has completely won me over in the short time he’s been here, and it looks like his journey may already have a very happy ending!

🏡❤️ I believe I’ve found the PERFECT home for Paddington, so he is MOST LIKELY PENDING!

Nothing is ever official until everything is finalized, but if all goes as planned, this little bear may already have found the family who will “please look after” him for the rest of his life. 🥹🧸

Yorkies may be tiny, but they’re often loved for their huge personalities, affectionate nature, intelligence, s***k, and incredible companionship. Paddington certainly seems to have packed plenty of sweetness into his tiny little body!

🧳🍊 He may not have arrived from darkest Peru with a suitcase and a marmalade sandwich, but Paddington’s unexpected journey brought him to Doodle Dude Rescue — and hopefully, his very next stop will be HOME. 🏡❤️

Shiba Inus have made another surprise return to Doodle Dude Rescue! Usually I’m lucky to see this breed come my way maybe once a year, but somehow this is my second group in just the last couple of months! ❤️

This time I welcomed five beautiful Shiba Inu puppies — three boys and two girls — and of course, I had to continue with a theme that celebrates their Japanese heritage!

🚨🐩 EMERGENCY SURPRISE ARRIVAL… MORE POODLES ARE COMING! 🐩🚨

Well, today just got a little busier! 😂🐾

I’m currently on my way to pick up the incoming Shiba Inu puppies, and I just received another unexpected call along the way…

Three more Miniature Poodles need my help, too! ❤️

So it looks like I’ll be making an extra stop and bringing home a few more passengers!

🦊🐾 SURPRISE… ANOTHER GROUP OF SHIBA INUS NEEDS MY HELP! 🐾🦊

Shiba Inus are usually a breed that only comes my way maybe once a year, so this one definitely caught me by surprise! ❤️

After recently helping my last group of Shibas find their families, I just got another unexpected call—making this my second group of Shiba Inus within the last two months! 🦊🦊

It looks like another 3–5 Shiba Inu puppies will most likely be arriving at Doodle Dude Rescue this Tuesday!

I don’t have all of the specifics quite yet, but here’s what I know so far:

🐶 Approximately 3–5 puppies are expected
💙🩷 Exact genders are still unknown
🎨 There may be a really fun variety of colors this time!

I’m expecting some of the familiar red and sesame coloring I’ve had with previous groups, but I’ve also been told there could potentially be some darker pups, including black sesame and possibly black & tan! 🖤🤎🦊

Of course, I won’t know exactly who is coming until they officially arrive, but I’m excited to see who needs me this time!

Just when I thought I knew what this week had in store… I got another call! 📞🐾

I’ll be welcoming a new group of Poodles to Doodle Dude Rescue! I don’t have all of the details quite yet, but this sounds like it’s going to be a beautiful and colorful group! ❤️

🐩 WHAT I KNOW SO FAR:

🐾 I believe they will be Miniature or Toy Poodles
❓ Exact number of pups is still unknown
💙🩷 Genders are still unknown
🎨 There will be a variety of colors, including:

🤎🖤 Phantom — a gorgeous color pattern where the pup has distinct contrasting markings, somewhat similar in appearance to the markings you may see on a tricolor pup!
