Dandelion snack!!! 🌼
We don’t have dandelions in our yard and everyone (except Winston — who spit them straight out 😂 — and Vlad who doesn’t even deem tasting them to spit them out 😂) likes them, ESPECIALLY Princess Peanut!! 🐽🥜🌼

Today, during a ride to town with their Aunt Sherri Sherri Lowell Brewer, Kevin and I hung out in the Baptist church yard while Sherri ran into the bank. While Kevin munched on grass, this momma got super excited and began “weeding” out all the dandelions in the church walkway!! 💛🌼 Bonus: I even got some good, long roots so I can try growing dandelions in our garden! 🌼

Ruby Rose has always been an early-bird piggo. This morning, she looked especially pretty against the soft KY mountain mist and bright green foliage while making sure the night owls (Stevey, Ganon the Canon, Kevin…) and Mister Lincoln (who needs very little sleep and is both a night owl and early bird, lol), didn’t miss any of last night’s bedtime snack during their nighttime cleanup 🐽

Ruby Rose has a beautiful rescue story — she has grown into such a lovely girl with a slightly shy, self-assured, adventure-seeking personality. Ruby Rose loves belly rubs, raisins, and bossing her bonded buddy, Red Bull.
Ruby Rose had a growing spurt last week (piggos continue to grow until they are 3-5 yo) and is now as tall and almost as long as Stevey Wonderful (though not as wide or muscled)!! Yesterday, I looked over to where Ruby Rose was grazing and had to look twice because she seemingly shot up over night! And last night during snack, I kept calling for a frustrated Ruby Rose who was standing in front of me — I was looking for my small, little “hedgehog” (her nickname), and in front of me was a beautiful, tall, teenaged young lady! ❤️🐷🌹

All of our piggos want to send out a big thOINK you to our wonderful neighbors, Missy & Ruthie (Jonah Bowling Ruthie Brewer), for the yummy treats!!! 🐷🐖🐽❤️
🐖🌷Elliey Petunia couldn’t wait for snack time and quick as a pig-wink snitched a box of Cheerios while Missy and Ruthie were visiting — Elliey took off to her favorite honeysuckle-shade spot before any of her siblings even realized what she had done… lol! It took them a few minutes, but the sound of a bag ripping and cereal crunching had them hurrying Elliey’s direction pretty quickly! 😂
🐷🍌Kevin heard the word “banana” and came running for a banana snack pouch — he (not so happily) shared a few sips with a couple of siblings, but otherwise drained that snack pouch piggy-quick!

🐖🐷🐽Everyone was tickled piggy with Kix and Cheerios for bedtime snack — ThOINK you, Bowling family!

⛈Had a doozy of a summer thunderstorm (dropping a lot of water in a short time) suddenly blow in this evening: fast, loud, and with a solid wall of water - it sounded like a train right before it poured.⛈
👩🏻‍🌾Me (human): run to throw on my poncho then rush to finish putting up or covering everything not meant to get wet (dark clouds and a strong wind blew over about 15 min before the storm, followed by blue skies and sunshine - so I stopped rain-proofing, lol🤷🏻‍♀️).
🐖🐷🐽Most of the piggos: run to rain-proof shelters.
🐖🐷🐷🐷: Stevey Wonderful, Pepa Faith, Suzy Q. and Kevin all line up in a row in the tent, bums sticking out soaking up a bit of rain spray and enjoying the cool breeze (Kevin ran over to me asking for milk before I could snap a pic; he was on the end next to Stevey).
🐷🐷: Ruby Rose & Mister Lincoln: Mister Lincoln followed me around and kept giving me, “but why?” looks when I would yell through the rain for him to go inside and get out of the rain. The two of them enjoyed leisurely snacking-in-the-rain.
🐖: Vlad - this guy has gotten mad at me before, but this was the first time he almost lost his temper 😂 He wanted to lay in his nest in the kitchen/dining area - the blankets of which were soaked within minutes of the storm’s start. I wanted him to go into a dry, out of the rain, piggo house. We finally compromised with his going into his more shaded - limb and vine covered - nest just off the kitchen area, the plant coverage protecting from most of the rain… Vlad waited until I left the area then immediately went back to his original, soaked blankets, nest 😂 (Yes, I will make him move before bedtime, but am guessing the cool, wet blankets probably feel good to him after a finally warmer day!)

Ah, how I, and most of the piggos, sure was enjoying those few days we had with somewhat warmer temps and no rain. Here’s hoping for sunshine tomorrow 🌞

Round #??? VLAD vs MOM: the Cucumber🥒

🐖🧸I have been told by Vlad’s ‘cool mom’ and dad that he actually does like most vegetables — which means he is totally just playing me for the newbie I am so he can get his preferred snacks rather than the “eh” (according to Vlad) snacks 😂😂🐖🧸

Today, he totally cracked me up! He normally prefers taking his treats from my hand vs eating out of a bowl. I have been trying for awhile - without success - to convince Vlad to try a cucumber. Typically, I get the head turn, slinting eyes, and annoyed complaints when I give cucumbers a go. And if I try to sneak a slice or piece into his mouth, it is promptly, and disgustedly spit out.
Today, I tried again.🥒
🐖🧸Head turns. Eye slinting. Disgusted grunts.
Then, I set the bowl in front of him, mostly to address another piggo who came up for belly rubs, not because I expected Vlad to even acknowledge the bowl. *That* is when Vlad really cracked me up!!!
A few sniffs… a tentative taste that was instantly spit out… followed by pushing the slices out of and around the bowl in search of some hidden - preferred - snack 😂 When no such snack was found, Vlad resigned himself to accepting cucumbers as today’s afternoon snack, SNARFING them down before laying back and looking at me like: “What? I could have told you I liked those. What is your deal? Why are you giving me that look? Who *doesn’t* like cucumbers anyway??” 😂🐖🧸🥒

Oh, how I love this silly boy! ❤️

And make sure y’all get lots of rolls and splishes!! Then find ya a good scritchin’ tree and scritch’ and scritch’ yer bum on that scritchin’ tree!! That is the bestest BUM day thing y’all could ever dream a’doing! And if y’all don’t have a mud pit at your house, you’ins can come here and I’ll share our mud pit with ya!
