Big beautiful Arlo loves to get the zoomies when he moves to the big pasture. All the fresh grass and space gets him hype. Zoe and him both jump around and party so hard when the get to move.

Butter Ball gave us a scare this week😒
He slowly started eating less over a few days and then stopped altogether, so we took him to the vet.

Thankfully, nothing alarming showed up. Low parasite count, healthy lungs and respiratory system, and a normal bladder ultrasound.

A week before this, we transitioned our animals from sericea lespedeza hay to mixed grass hay for winter, so we’re hoping he’s just being picky about the change and not dealing with something more serious.

For now, we’re focusing on supportive care: appetite boosters, B-complex, thiamine, and giving him sericea hay again so his rumen doesn’t shut down.

Taking it one step at a time, and he’s already showing improvement 🤎🐐

Every hand dug fence post, every late night& every early morning is a reflection of your dedication and heart. You are truly the muscle behind this farm and give me the emotional strength to get through the hard days. Your empathy, love, and deep care for the animals is felt in every corner of this sanctuary. They know you’re their safe place, especially Olaf, who bleats for you until you pick him up and he immediately chews his cud🥹. Sweet, strong, shy Zeke got a hoof trim and haircut today. He is such a wild boy, but inside he is so sweet and gentle. He still has such a fear of men from what his past was but day by day, month by month he will surprise us and give us the sweetest snuggles on his terms every once and awhile.

MOON BEAM UPDATE: last night Moon Beam started urinating blood on top of all the other complications we had over the weekend. So, I loaded him up and we arrived at UT at midnight. The overnight team started doing physical exams, bloodwork and ultrasounds all with nothing too concerning popping up. Today they did more extensive blood work and testing that still didn’t lead anywhere, yet. He is expected to be there 2-3 more days doing labs everyday to try and pinpoint the issue. I came back to Nashville this evening after snuggling him all afternoon at the hospital. It was so hard to leave him but we know he’s in the best place possible to get him healthy. We’re trying to stay positivity but it’s easy to get wrapped up in sadness. Please send precious Moon all your love and positivity we can get through this. And please consider donating or sharing this post, it really helps!!
