My Little Grouse House Thanks for visiting! I am a busy mom taking care of 3 kids (Mae, Teddy & Oscar) with my husband, Paul. From there I began making barn quilts. Why Barn quilts?

Over the last 9 years I have developed a love of sewing & quilting. And here is where I share them with you. My name is Abigail and My Little Grouse House is my business to share with you some of the barn quilts that I love. I've been married for 12 years and have 3 kids. We also have a grouchy old basset hound named, Opey. We live in central Illinois, where I was raised. The wide open spaces of c

orn and bean fields are one of the most comforting places in the world for me! I love sewing and crafting, trying new recipes and reading children's novels and memoirs, group exercise classes and iced coffee. My Little Grouse House got it's name after a little cabin in the woods in Northern Wisconsin where my husband and I spent the early years of our marriage. We learned so much about our faith, friendship and living in community. I also discovered my love for sewing and crafting in that cabin. So this shop is an ode to the many great memories I have there. Because you can't put a real quilt everywhere ;)

One of the big reasons I became interested in barn quilts was because of my love for sewing. This Friday night you can find my barn quilts and a few sewn goods (like these felt lightbulb ornaments, Scandinavian star ornaments, hair scrunchies {they. are. baaaack.} and holiday potholders) at Christmas Simple at E-Free Church. One of the things that works best for me and works great for you is that the barn quilt you see on Etsy is the barn quilt you’re receiving (unless it’s a custom order). So when an order comes in I am able to get it packaged and have the USPS come pick it up from my home within a day or two.

I also understand that shipping these barn quilts (weighing under 6 lbs) can get costly which is why I offer free pick up in Bloomington. Be sure to use BLONOPICKUP as a coupon code if you’d like to save on shipping by picking it up yourself.
