🐾 **Seeking a Michigan Attorney Referral — Please Share**

I'm reaching out to my network in hopes that someone may know of a Michigan attorney who could help me with a civil court matter involving my Great Dane, Anna, and a dispute over her ownership and possession.

I have a 21-day deadline to respond to the court, and I'm doing everything I can to protect my rights and ensure Anna's best interests are represented. Unfortunately, I cannot afford traditional attorney fees right now.

I have already contacted legal aid, but they are unable to assist me. I've also reached out to several attorneys and have not received any return calls.

I'm hoping someone might know an attorney who handles civil litigation or animal ownership disputes and who would be willing to discuss my situation, offer a consultation, or consider reduced fees or a payment plan.

Many of you know how much my Great Danes mean to me and how dedicated I am to their care and well-being. Anna is very important to me, and I'm trying my best to navigate this legal process while making sure I handle everything properly.

I'm not asking anyone to solve this for me. I'm simply hoping to connect with an attorney who can provide the legal guidance I need.

If you know a Michigan attorney who might be willing to speak with me, please send me a private message. I would sincerely appreciate any referrals or leads.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this and help spread the word. ❤️🐾

💔🐾 **PLEASE PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES: THE OTHER SIDE OF RESPONSIBLE BREEDING** 🐾💔

I've spent a lot of time trying to find the words to explain why my heart is so broken. This isn't easy for me to share, but I believe people need to understand a side of breeding that often gets overlooked.

So many times, the word *breeder* is enough for people to form an opinion. We get labeled, criticized, and judged before people take the time to understand who we are, what we do, and why we do it.

But I want to ask something of you.

**Please put yourself in my shoes.**

Imagine dedicating your life to something you believe can make a difference in this world. Imagine pouring your heart, time, knowledge, money, and energy into raising dogs that can do more than simply be someone's pet.

Imagine working toward a mission of helping people who are struggling, bringing comfort to those living with trauma, helping people find joy again, and giving them a reason to smile when life has taken so much from them.

**That is what Duty Danes means to me.**

My mission has always been about healing hearts, one paw at a time. And somewhere along this journey, while I've been helping others find comfort and healing through these incredible dogs, I've been healing parts of my own heart, too.

These dogs have brought friendships into my life, helped me connect with people, and given me a purpose that means more to me than I can adequately explain.

But what happens when the person who spends their life trying to do good finds themselves in a position where they need help protecting one of their own dogs?

What happens when you raise concerns about a dog's welfare, try to explain the history behind those concerns, bring forward the information you believe matters, and walk away feeling unheard?

What happens when you're doing everything you can to advocate for an animal you love, but the outcome is not what you believe is safest for that animal?

That is where I find myself today.

My heart is broken over Anna. I am deeply worried about her, and I am struggling with the outcome of a legal process in which I tried to explain why I believed her safety and well-being needed to be considered.

I am not sharing this because I want revenge. I am not asking anyone to attack another person, and I am not asking anyone to take sides.

I am sharing this because I want people to understand the human side of responsible breeding.

**We are people, too. We have hearts. We love our dogs. We worry about them, lose sleep over them, grieve them, and sometimes fight battles that leave us feeling completely helpless.**

Being a breeder does not mean we care any less. It does not mean our concerns should automatically carry less weight. And it should never mean that people stop looking at the individual, the evidence, and the circumstances behind a situation.

I cannot speak for every breeder, and I cannot claim to know what influenced every decision made in my case. But I can speak about my own experience and how it has affected me.

I felt that I was trying to speak for a dog who could not speak for herself. I wanted the concerns I raised to be understood, and I wanted Anna's welfare to remain at the center of the discussion.

The outcome has left me heartbroken and questioning whether the concerns I brought forward received the consideration I believed they deserved.

And it has left me asking a question that I think deserves more attention:

**When a responsible breeder asks for help protecting an animal, where do they turn when they feel the system has not heard them?**

We talk so much about animal welfare, and rightly so. But we also need to be willing to look beyond labels and recognize that responsible breeders can be advocates for their animals, too.

The law must be followed, evidence must be considered, and animals deserve to have their welfare taken seriously. I believe those principles should apply regardless of who is standing in that courtroom.

I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for fairness, compassion, and a willingness to see the whole picture.

I know I cannot change everything that has happened. I know there are things outside my control. But I can continue to stand by the mission that brought me here in the first place.

I will continue working to help people. I will continue believing in the incredible bond between humans and dogs. And I will continue to care deeply about the animals who have been entrusted to me.

Right now, though, I am hurting.

Not because I want to get even with anyone, but because I love Anna, I worry about her safety, and I wish I could have changed the outcome.

Sometimes the people who spend their lives trying to heal other people's hearts need someone to understand when their own heart has been shattered.

So before you judge a breeder, before you jump on the bandwagon, and before you assume you know the whole story, I ask you to pause.

Put yourself in our shoes.

Look beyond the label. Look at the individual, the care, the commitment, and the reasons behind what they do.

Because behind every responsible breeder is a person who has chosen to take on the responsibility of bringing lives into this world and helping those lives find their place in it.

And behind every dog is a living soul whose welfare matters.

**My mission is still to heal hearts, one paw at a time. That has not changed. But today, the heart that needs a little healing is mine.** ❤️🐾

I want everyone to know that, even though I am hurting right now, **I am not giving up.**

I will continue helping people. I will continue helping dogs. I will continue working toward the mission I built Duty Danes around.

I know that healing takes time. I know I need time to grieve, to process what has happened, and to find my footing again. But I also know that one painful experience will not erase the reason I started this journey.

**I may be hurting today, but I will heal. I will find my strength again, and I will keep going.**

I will keep doing what I love, keep working to make a difference, and keep believing that these incredible dogs can change lives for the better.

Because my heart may be hurting today, but my purpose is still here.

**I will keep healing hearts, one paw at a time.** ❤️🐾

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with kindness, offered support, and taken the time to understand my side of this experience.

Please keep Anna in your thoughts and prayers.
