COMPANION HORSE NEEDS HOME🐓. Boomer is a
MorganX gelding.
He’s in his early teens. He’s about 14H in height.
We are trying to help his 85 year old owner find him his forever home since she is no longer able to keep him.
He needs a home as a companion horse since he’s never really been trained to ride or drive. He has been a companion horse only .
He’s a very easy keeper. Most of his life, he’s been on pasture board and does very well outside with a good run-in shed.
He’s a very smart boy. He loves being groomed. He’s
ā€œokayā€ for the farrier. He’s up to date on all of his shots and has a current 2025
Coggins. He does lack ground manner He just needs some consistency in his life. With the right person, who has the knowledge, time and patience, he might make a dandy little trail riding pony.JoAnne

Late night post . Most days are long , ( hot this time of year ton) and some are more stressful than others . Mama peacock health issues seem to be resolved. She is able to get up on her perch and is attracting the attention of her mate . Sky is packing on the pounds … Draft horses are exhausted every morning now as we have switched to night turn out . They go out at dusk and unfortunately are still bothered by mosquitos at that time . Fly spray not to helpful . The tortoises are out enjoying the sunny day finally ! This colorful group is enjoying all the great blankets that were donated !!!!! Finally my sweet Bailey has been sick and vomiting for several days . She is a liver shunt yorkie and even after a semi successful surgery 4 yrs ago her life expectancy is expected to be only 8 yrs at most . I am so worried. 😧. A trip to Dicken memorial on friday , bloodwork was drawn . Waiting for the results while trying everything to get her to eat anything in mentally draining . She has a very restrictive diet . Life at the sanctuary is my full time job. 24/7 ! The animals continue to age and I have reached the point that most are seniors that have lived life with a compromised body . Medical issues arise daily and I go from one to another managing all that can be managed . Bailey is #1 on my prayer list tonight.

Just about a week ago, mama Peacock was nestled in the corner of the Peacock house sitting next to egg she had laid. it’s that time of year again, so I was not at all concerned . A few days went by and she had not moved from that position . When I approached her she had extreme difficulty in trying to stand, and when trying to use her left foot she literally fell over . Concerned she may have a fractured or broken leg off shecwent to the cat doctor. Dr Sobel also does exotics ! After a exam and x-ray. Nothing showed up on the x-ray and her symptoms appeared to be more neurological. Left with many unanswered questions we are doing supportive care, antibiotics, pain, meds, and treating her to every special treat that a Peacock would love to eat . This morning when I entered the Peacock house (she is created overnight) she stood up for a few seconds that is an improvement over the last week so hopefully we are moving in the right direction. If only these animals could talk it would make my life so much simpler..

Memorial day we received a call about a kitty in distress. First thoughts were that he was suffering from a broken leg .After arriving at the Cat doctor on Tuesday. He was given meds and a complete physical completed. It was determined that he had a very painful severe abscess in that upper leg, which resulted in a lot of swelling. He was covered in fleas and ticks, but one of the sweetest, most tolerant affectionate kitty even while suffering with a very painful leg . The abscess was drained. He was treated for fleas/ ticks . During his stay with The Cat Doctor he was tested , wormed , treated for fleas / ticks and neutered. He will remain on antibiotics for 2 weeks as we monitor that abcess to continue draining and healing . Please consider donating towards his care. We felt with a local cat rescue closing he had no option for help and medical care . We are over full here with animals and keeping up with sanctuary bills is challenging enough . I named him Tux donations can be made directly towards his bill at the Cat Dr also. We thank you .
