๐ฆ Letโs talk Green Iguanas!
A baby iguana may be cute, but bringing one home requires some serious planning for the future!
๐ They get BIG โ Green Iguanas may start out small, but adults can reach around 5โ6 feet from nose to tail!
๐จ Not always green โ Despite their name, they can also display shades of blue, gray, orange, and brown depending on age, s*x, genetics, and other factors.
๐ก They need LOTS of space โ Their adult size means theyโll eventually need a very large enclosure with plenty of room to move and climb.
๐ณ Built to climb โ Theyโre arboreal, so vertical space, sturdy branches, and climbing opportunities are an important part of their setup.
๐ฟ Herbivores โ They need a varied, plant-based diet made up primarily of leafy greens and other vegetation.
โ๏ธ Heat & UVB are essential โ Proper basking temperatures and strong UVB lighting are necessary for keeping them healthy.
๐ Theyโre a long-term commitment โ With proper care, they can live 15+ years!
Young iguanas can grow into some pretty impressive reptiles! Doing your research and planning ahead is an important part of giving them the best life.
