Also accepting Missy, Miss Miss, and “oh my goodness, look at that FACE.”

I came to South Slope Rescue in June as an owner surrender from Birney, MT, on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation. I was very young, very pregnant, and very unsure about this whole humans situation. My pregnancy was ended during my spay, and I’ve spent the months since learning how to just be a young dog.

When I arrived, I was a little feral. These days? I’m getting friendlier, engaging with people, and doing great at adoption events and puppy yoga. Apparently, watching humans struggle to balance is excellent for my personal growth. 🧘‍♀️

I’m still a shy girl. You’ll need to earn my trust, give me time, and accept that my confidence is currently a work in progress.

And the leash? HARD PASS.
I do not walk on one. At all. My stage name says superstar; my leash skills say decorative potato. We’ll need to work on that slowly, with patience and encouragement.

Here’s what I bring to the relationship:
💛 A sweet, gentle personality.
💛 A great track record with kids.
💛 An increasingly brave little heart.
💛 This face. Honestly, I feel like that deserves its own bullet.

Cats? Haven’t met them yet, so my official status is not cat tested.

I’m looking for a patient home with a securely fenced yard, people who will help me build confidence, and absolutely zero expectations that I’ll arrive ready for a neighborhood stroll.

I’ve been here since June, quietly figuring out how to trust. Now I need someone willing to keep figuring it out with me.

🤎🐾 MY NAME IS KERFUFFLE, BUT I AM ABSOLUTELY NOT HERE TO CAUSE ONE. 🐾🤎

Hello, beautiful humans. Allow me to introduce myself.

I’m Kerfuffle. I’m 12 weeks old, dressed in the most luxurious deep chocolate coat you’ve ever seen, and I’ve got a pair of ridiculously gorgeous green eyes that should probably come with a warning label. 💚

Seriously. Look directly into them and suddenly you’re filling out adoption paperwork. It’s science.

Despite my name, I’m not much of a troublemaker. I’m more of a professional snuggler, part-time heart thief, and full-time sweetheart.

I’m all love, cuddles, and that sweet, gentle puppy energy that makes grown adults turn into blubbering idiots.

I don’t need to be the loudest puppy in the room. I’m perfectly happy being the one who melts your heart right out of your chest.

My qualifications include:
🤎 12 weeks of being absolutely precious
💚 Green eyes that belong on a magazine cover
🐾 A chocolate coat you won’t be able to stop petting
🥹 A gentle, loving little soul
💕 Exceptional cuddling skills, despite having zero formal training

My name might mean a commotion, but the only chaos I’m interested in causing is a complete disruption of your ability to get anything done because you can’t stop loving on me.

Good morning everyone! Well I go in for surgery today at around 10ish. Thank you everyone who has helped us with the emergency fostering and support while we go through this again! Huge thank you to all of our people that showed up for us and the dogs today! We were able to move 8 dogs into temporary foster and got connected with an amazing gal who had a small rescue out of Helena that is actively looking for forever homes for our boxer gang and our longer term dogs still in our care!

We are feeling very loved and blessed by each of you 🙏🏼

They were not able to set Jeremiah’s hip today, he will be hospitalized until Thursday when his surgeon can try to fix this. We still need prayers, fosters, and adopters. ♥️♥️

🚨🐾 SOUTH SLOPE RESCUE: WE NEED OUR VILLAGE, AND WE NEED YOU TODAY! 🐾🚨

Well, folks. Apparently the universe looked at our already overflowing plate and said, “You know what this needs? MORE CHAOS!” 😳🤦‍♀️

Here’s where we’re at:

I’m out of town at a conference until tomorrow evening, and Jeremiah’s “new” hip replacement has DISLOCATED. He’s headed to the emergency room right now, and we may be facing another emergency surgery because there appears to be an issue with the placement of the cup or socket.

SOOOOO… WE HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF A DOG CRISIS ON OUR HANDS. 🫠

We desperately need EMERGENCY FOSTERS who can step up and take a dog or two for the next few days while we navigate this absolute circus.

⚠️ FULL DISCLOSURE: PLEASE READ!

We’ve got a nasty respiratory bug making its way through our pack. Many of the dogs have coughs and runny noses. Symptoms have been resolving fairly quickly, but this thing is making the rounds like it bought a season pass.

We want to be completely transparent because we absolutely DO NOT want to put anyone else’s animals at risk.

🐾 Ideally, we’re looking for fosters who:
❤️ Don’t currently have dogs OR have the ability to keep foster dogs completely separated from their personal pets.
❤️ Can offer a warm, safe space for a few days.
❤️ Understand that some of these babies may be coughing and sniffling and need a little extra TLC.
❤️ Can help us get through an unexpected family emergency.

Because respiratory infections can be contagious even as symptoms improve, we recommend keeping fosters separated from resident dogs and following veterinary guidance on when it’s safe to introduce them.

This isn’t a long-term commitment. This is an SOS. 🚨

We’re usually the people figuring out how to make the impossible happen for these dogs. Today, we’re the ones who need somebody to show up for us.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned doing rescue, it’s that OUR VILLAGE IS PRETTY DAMN INCREDIBLE. ❤️
