🖤🤍 MEET COSMO & CLEO! 🤍🖤
These two have actually been with M.A.P.S. for a little while, and it's finally time for a proper introduction!
Cosmo & Cleo are a brother-and-sister pair, approximately 6 months old, who came into our care back in July. They had been taken in as babies by someone who cared for them but eventually found themselves unable to continue doing so.
Since coming to M.A.P.S., we've been giving these two some time to settle in and working on their socialization while raising the funds needed to get them ready for adoption. 🐾
And now we have some good news...
🎉 Thanks to your donations, we've raised enough to get Cosmo & Cleo spayed/neutered!
Even better, your support has also made it possible for us to get Daphne spayed. ❤️ We'll be making appointments and getting all three taken care of.
Once Cosmo & Cleo have completed their vetting and are ready to go, they'll officially be looking for their forever homes! 🏡
To everyone who donated, shared our posts, dropped a few dollars in one of our donation jars, or supported us at an event — thank you.
This is exactly where that money goes. Three more cats are getting the care they need and moving one step closer to their forever homes because our community showed up for them. ❤️
Welcome (officially!) to M.A.P.S., Cosmo & Cleo! 🖤🤍

🐾🌲 INTRODUCING M.A.P.S. TRAIL BLAZERS! 🌲🐾

Rescue doesn't happen once a month — and neither do the expenses.

Food, litter, vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries, medications, microchips and emergency veterinary care are all part of helping the cats and kittens who come through M.A.P.S. find their way home.

That's why we're introducing M.A.P.S. Trail Blazers — our community of monthly donors who help give us a dependable source of support we can count on as new animals come into our care. ❤️

Becoming a Trail Blazer doesn't require a huge donation. Whether it's $5, $10, $25 or whatever amount works for you each month, those recurring gifts add up and help us plan ahead for the animals who need us.

🌲 Become a M.A.P.S. Trail Blazer

Set up a recurring monthly donation through our Zeffy donation page and you're in. 🐾

Already donating to M.A.P.S. monthly? You're already one of our Trail Blazers — thank you! ❤️

And if monthly giving isn't possible right now, that's completely okay. Following our page, sharing our animals, volunteering, fostering and supporting our events all help keep this little rescue moving forward.

Together, we're Helping Pets Find Their Way Home. 🗺️🐾

🐾 COURTESY POST — LEON NEEDS A NEW HOME 🖤
Meet Leon! 🐈‍⬛
Leon was born in 2022 and is a big, handsome boy at about 22 pounds. He is neutered, litter trained, and his family describes him as an absolute cuddle bug with adults with an amazing personality.
Unfortunately, Leon has shown that he is not comfortable living with young children. His family recently welcomed another baby and, although they love Leon very much, they have made the difficult decision to find him a home that will be a better fit.
🏡 About Leon: • Born in 2022
• Neutered
• Approximately 22 lbs
• Very affectionate with adults
• Litter trained
• Has lived with cats and dogs
• Would do best in a home without young children
• Needs his vaccines brought current
• Has occasionally chewed electrical cords, so his future family should be aware of that
His family is willing to have his rabies vaccine updated before he goes to his new home and can provide a bag of his food.
They aren't looking to simply give Leon away to the first person who asks. They want to find the right home where this big guy can be happy, comfortable, and loved. ❤️
If you think you might be a good fit for Leon, please message Mountain Area Pet Sanctuary and we can connect you with his family.
Please share to help Leon find the right home! 🐾🏡
Leon is not currently in the care of Mountain Area Pet Sanctuary. This is a courtesy post to help his family find an appropriate home.

🎉🐾 ALFA ROMEO HAS BEEN ADOPTED! 🐾🎉
Another member of our Auto Litter has officially left the garage! 🚗💨❤️
Alfa Romeo has been adopted and is home with his new family! 🏡🐱
A huge thank you to his adopters for choosing to give this sweet boy a home of his own. We are so happy for Alfa and can't wait for him to settle in and start this next chapter of his life. ❤️
Every adoption makes room for us to continue helping cats and kittens in need throughout our mountain communities—and we still have more kittens and adult cats waiting for their own forever homes!
If you've been thinking about adding a new family member, send M.A.P.S. Rescue a message to learn who's currently available. 🐾
And if you can't adopt right now, you can still help by sharing our available animals, fostering, volunteering, or donating. Every bit of support helps our small rescue keep going.
Happy tails, Alfa Romeo! 🥹❤️

🐾 COURTESY POST — HOME NEEDED 🐾
Look at this handsome boy! ❤️
We were contacted by his owner and are helping spread the word in hopes of finding him a great home.
He is an approximately 8-month-old male Cane Corso, currently around 60 lbs. He is described as super friendly, very playful, and good with other dogs. He has spent time daily with a Dalmatian for the past 4–5 months and, being a young pup, still has plenty of that puppy energy!
He is not currently neutered, and his vaccination history is unknown, so his future family should be prepared to get him established with a veterinarian and caught up on any needed care.
📍 Courtesy Post 📞 Interested adopters can contact his owner directly by call or text at 760-885-8490.
Please note: This dog is not in the care of M.A.P.S. Rescue. We are sharing this post as a courtesy to help connect him with a potential home. M.A.P.S. Rescue has not independently evaluated his health or temperament.
Please share and help us get this big, goofy puppy in front of the right person! 🐾❤️

🐾❤️ THANK YOU, BIG BEAR! ❤️🐾
We finally have a chance to catch our breath after an eventful few days! A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to see MAPS Rescue at Tractor Supply in Big Bear Lake—whether you stopped by to meet the kittens, say hello, learn about the rescue, or make a donation. ❤️
Every donation truly makes a difference. Right now we're saving to get two more kittens spayed/neutered and ready for adoption. The sooner we can get our cats vetted and into loving homes, the sooner we can open space to help more cats and kittens in our mountain communities. 🐱❤️
And of course… AXEL GOT ADOPTED! 🎉🐾
This photo was taken when Axel found his new family at the event. He went home that day, then gave everyone quite a scare when he slipped outside. After three nights missing, his family heard him meowing outside in the middle of the night—and Axel was finally home! ❤️
A huge thank you to Axel's adopters and to everyone who searched, shared, checked their properties, and kept an eye out for him while he was missing. ❤️
🐱 We still have cats and kittens available for adoption! You don't have to wait for an event—message MAPS anytime to learn more.
📍 Next adoption event: October 3 at Jiji & Friends in Crestline
📍 Coming back to Tractor Supply Big Bear in October! Date coming soon.
Thank you for continuing to support our little rescue. Every donation, every adoption, and every share helps us help another animal. ❤️🐾

❤️🐾 AXEL IS HOME!!! 🐾❤️
We have the BEST news to share this morning — Axel has been found safe and is back home with his family! 🎉🐱
In the middle of the night, his family heard a familiar little meow outside. Sure enough, Axel had found his way back home! They were able to get him safely inside, and as you can see from the video… he seems pretty happy to be back. 🥹❤️ Just look at those biscuits!
We cannot thank our mountain community enough. So many of you shared his post, checked your yards and properties, kept an eye out while driving, took flyers, and offered to help search. You guys showed up for this little kitten in a BIG way.
To everyone in Sugarloaf and the surrounding Big Bear communities who helped us look for Axel — THANK YOU. ❤️
And Axel… please don't scare us like that again, little dude. 😂🐾
Welcome home, Axel! 🏠❤️🐱

🚨🐾 LOST CAT – SUGARLOAF – PLEASE SHARE! 🐾🚨
Yesterday was a big day for Axel — he was adopted at our Tractor Supply event and went home with his new family! ❤️🐱
Last night, however, he managed to slip outside and is now missing. We need our mountain community’s help getting Axel safely back home to his new family! 🐾❤️
🐱 AXEL • Grey tabby
• Approximately 5½ months old
• Neutered
• MICROCHIPPED
• Indoor-only kitten
📍 LAST SEEN: Riverside Ave in Sugarloaf, running toward Kern Ave.
Axel has never been an outdoor cat, so he is most likely very scared and hiding nearby. Please check under decks, porches, houses, sheds, vehicles, bushes, and other small hiding places around your property. Please also check garages and sheds in case he slipped inside.
⚠️ If you see him, please do not chase him. A frightened indoor cat may run even from someone trying to help. If possible, keep eyes on him and contact MAPS Rescue immediately with his location.
📸 The photos below are Axel.
🙏 PLEASE SHARE THIS POST, especially with anyone who lives in Sugarloaf or near Riverside Ave/Kern Ave. And if you're in the area, please take a few minutes to check around your property. Every extra set of eyes helps us get Axel safely home. ❤️🐾
