A family based reptile education organization offering live animals for events across MA and New England. Rainforest Reptile Shows brings exciting, hands-on reptile and animal encounters to your location! Perfect for birthday parties, schools, libraries, fairs, camps, corporate events, scout meetings, colleges, and more across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and throughout New England. We are one of the only institutions licensed to bring an alligator to programs in Massachusetts! With 30+ years in business and 150+ years of expertise, we train law enforcement on proper and safe reptile handling and capture nationwide and even internationally. The animals used in our programming come from previously negative situations like confiscations by law enforcement, illegally owned pets, abuse cases, or unwanted animals. Our goal is inspire everyone about the importance of the natural world, especially our scaly friends! Fully licensed, insured, and staff are CORI/SORI checked. This Burmese Pytjon came into us after someone was using them to sell photos on the NY boardwalk. Unfortunately, this friend has a face abcess that we have been working on getting reduced. We are hopeful they will do well over time!

Meet the Puff Adder. This friend came to us as an illegally owned pet in VT. The previous owner was attempting to free handle this animal for social media videos.

We work very closely with law enforcement agencies all across the Northeast to help with these types of creatures. These animals are typically placed within our care, if confiscated due to lack of proper permits.

In addition, we regularly offer training courses for officers to make sure that the officer and animals stay safe. Since 1996, we have offered this to make sure commonly misunderstood scaly friends have a permanent place to call home.

The fear of snakes is one of the most common on the planet. But, is it because of evolution to not like snakes, or a learned behavior? We thought it would be fun to investigate with the spooky season.

Solar panels came from alligators! Who knew they were that smart đŸ˜‰

Well, some scientists believe that to be true after studying their osteoderms, or their little solar panel type bones across their back. Many people think they are for armor, but thats not true! They are nature's homemade solar panels that allows for these animals to regulate their temperature efficiently.

Please remember, venomous snakes are not pets. It takes years and decades to safely work with these animals. In addition, you can never completely eliminate risk but mitigate as much as possible. Be safe and follow all of your states laws and regulations.

All of the venomous in our care come to us from illegally owned animals that were confiscated by law enforcement.
