Located in Berryville Va, Looking Glass Acres will have a few spots for retirement board opening July 15th due to a client with multiple horses moving out of state. Several packages available to meet the needs of your horse and your wishes. We also offer customized options to make sure each horse has the care they need. The goal at Looking Glass Acres is to take the worry out of retirement for your horse. Owned and operated by Jennifer Simmons who has 30+ years experience in barn management, horse training, competing, rescue and care, you never have to worry about your horse not being cared for and looked after. Message us for more information. Prices range from $350-$600/month depending on level of care.

ALL HORSES WILL RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING -
-24 turnout in compatible groups with access to shelter
-Thorough check twice daily for injuries and illness
-Free choice hay as needed in winter months
-De-worming as recommended by vet
-Annual vaccinations (horses must be boarded for 6 months before receiving vaccinations included in board fee)
-Annual teeth floating
-Holding for regular vet and farrier visits

Additional services are available including use of a stall, scheduling and holding for non-routine vet and farrier visits and additional grooming. Fees will be in addition to the monthly board fee.

-Hooves trimmed as needed up to 5 times/year
-Grooming twice per month

RETIREMENT FIELD BOARD: $450/ month
-Pictures taken upon arrival and emailed to owner
-Monthly updates including pictures
-Blanketing in winter as needed (blankets provided by owner)
-Fly masks in summer if requested by owner
-Hooves trimmed as needed up to 4 times/year

BASIC CARE BOARD: $350/ Month
-Hooves trimmed 2 times/year

Openings available for boarding due to a current client with multiple horses moving to their own farm. Looking Glass Acres in Berryville Va will have openings available for retirement board, field board, possible self care field or stall board (for the right person) beginning December 1st. The possibility exists for someone to work off some or all of board with help feeding, grooming and general farm work. For more information please message the page.

ISO part time horse care help for retirement boarding facility in Berryville Va. Ideal situation would be a working boarder but open to paying as well. Ideally looking for an as needed basis usually one day a week and then occasionally extra days if I go out of town. Would also ideally be someone willing to help with house pets on those days as well. Horse care involves 1-1.5hrs am and pm. All horses live outside so no real stall cleaning, only picking 4 stalls for the ones who come in to eat. Must have experience, be able to identify illness and injury and be reliable!
