t’s been a couple months since I did a newsletter! I’ve been on maternity leave and just soaking up all the newborn snuggles. What a big adjustment to my day to day life. I thought I’d be itching to get back to working…. But I’m not. I sit here at 3am typing this with her snuggled up on me. I’ll be starting to add some lessons in next week. If anyone if available to come during the day once school is out, please let me know. I want to cut back on a few evening lessons (so I don’t miss bathe time). I’ll be scheduling a time for all my current lesson students before taking on new clients. If you’ve been riding with me and haven’t heard from me yet, let’s catch up!
Attica rodeo series is in full swing. I have a handful of students aiming to get into the rodeo this year! I’m giving a beginner sorting clinic up at Double S arena in Irving. A great opportunity to learn the game of sorting. The June clinic is full but there’s spots left in the following months. Auditing is free so if you’re curious about ranch sorting, come on out. I also have a penning clinic in the works so stay tuned!
We’re at day 300 for Whiskey. A mares normal gestation is 340 days so we’re getting close! She’ll get moved into the bigger box stall and get the cameras on her this week. She could go as soon as 20 days from now. I just hope for a healthy baby…. But a blue roan filly would be the wish!

We wrapped up the winter sorting series yesterday at Circle C arena. We had 8 kids that qualified for finals this year! Thank you to everyone that rode with the kids throughout this very cold winter. Congratulations to all!

Happy March. Spring is right around around the corner! We’ve gotten through the worse of this snowy and frigid cold weather. I’m hoping for fewer days of extra layers and hand warmers this month! It was so nice to get back to chasing cows a couple weeks ago! Seems like this winter has cancelled more shows than ever before. We have 2 more sortings this month, then I’ll be on maternity leave. You only need 3 shows this year to qualify for finals. I’ll get everyone to finals in May, one way or another. I was going to close the books for massages starting March 1st but I’m still feeling good! Big, but good. I think I can speak for many lesson programs too and say, it was a hard winter to own a bunch of horses. Too cold to teach, and the horses need to eat more than ever in that weather. More money going out than coming in. As of now my game plan is to teach lessons through the month of March. Hopefully baby girl stays put and allows for that! Plan on being off for the month of April and May. If anyone is interested in still riding during that time there are a few lessons barns I can recommend.
Around the farm…. My duck collection has really grown! If anyone is interested in any, they lay eggs and also I love them for bug control. This breed is also suppose to be god for eating if you like duck. I always have both chicken and duck eggs. We also still have some ground beef for sale too. Whiskeys baby bump is growing! She has just over 100 days until her due date. I’ll have some maternity pictures to share later this month.

As always,
thank you for your support of my small business.
I truly love what I do.

February newsletter!
I’m not late posting this month; progress. I hope everyone is hanging in there with these frigid temps! I miss all the lesson kids and it feels like we haven’t chased cows in weeks! 15° and under we don’t ride, that has really made things quiet around here. Everyone is doing great and enjoying their little vacation. We might have to let out the cinches a couple holes because the horses have been eating like crazy. Whiskey’s bump is progressing. Her baby is the size of a Beagle! I know that’s the most asked question by the kids. I think she’s enjoying the peace and quiet with Neat being weaned. Say your goodbyes, because Neat will be heading to his new home with Dr. Jeff very soon! To any of my massage clients, this will be the last month that I’m booking horses and dogs to massage. I will still book Bemer sessions into March but I am starting to slow down as I grow. This weekend’s temps aren’t looking too promising to go to a horse show but we do have one more later in the month to look forward to. My friends are throwing baby girl and I a shower at the show on February 21st. All are welcome but any of my lesson clients planning on riding, please comment in our sorting group.

Stay warm! The days are getting longer (god bless) so they will be warming up before we know it!

As always,
thank you for your support of my small business.
