Thank you to the Good Samaritan who contacted BCAS in regard to a down, severly injured cat in the roadway. Due to the extent of the injuries, the cat made his journey to the rainbow bridge in comforting arms. DMH, BLACK, YOUNG ADULT, INTACT MALE. No collar or microchip. No ear tip. LOCATION: COUNTRY LN, OAK LAWN ESTATES, POPLAR GROVE.

HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY!!! We are thankful to Andy McManus for his continued support through the 3rd Annual PEDAL FOR PAWS 🐾 EVENT. Thank you to all who participated & donated, which made PEDAL FOR PAWS 🐾 a huge success for the BCAS VETERINARY CARE FUND. Jacob, Andy, Brandy & Jerrica presented the check to BCAS with the help of our KNIGHT🐾🖤. Knight was first brought to us on 6/30/2026 as a stray and was reclaimed by his owner. Knight was found running at large, again, on 7/21/2026. A Good Samaritan kept him safe and out of the roadway. Belvidere PD picked up Knight and brought him to BCAS. After several attempts to contact his owner, a letter was delivered to the last known address. Knight was never reclaimed by his owner during his mandatory stray hold. Knight is possibly a Lab mix with some German Shepherd in his heritage. He is a handsome, intelligent young lad that loves fetching a ball. Knight is full of playful energy. He always welcomes new visitors with a wagging tail. His estimated birthday is 10/27/2024, making him nearly 2 years old. He is currently at a very trim 70 pounds. Knight was vaccinated with Distemper combination & Rabies vaccine, Heartworm 4-DX tested negative, and had pre-anesthesia blood work, (all normal) on July 30, 2026. He was neutered on July 31, 2026. Knight received Panacur treatment & Heartgard Plus. Knight is looking for an active forever family. He would benefit with an obedience class and a secure fenced in yard to keep him safe. TODAY IS THE 3RD ANNUAL PEDAL FOR PAWS EVENT! Thank you to all involved in making this event a success for the BCAS shelter animals. Thank you to Buchanan Street Pub for their "PAWS ON THE WALLS" fundraiser. ENJOY THIS BEAUTIFUL DAY OF RIDING for the animals!!!
