My Dog Has Fleece Creating handmade fleece dog (and cat!) toys- knotted tugs, rings, specialty, snuffle mats, snuffle balls, and ball tugs. Why fleece? After asking my S.O.

It’s thick, soft, stretchy, non-fraying, and washable. We're a couple of hobbyists-turned-small business owners. After coming across some fleece strips in my downstairs craft room after a move, I figured I'd make a couple dog tug toys to donate. if he'd like to learn and partake in the therapeutic craft (and several trips to the craft store for more fleece), the business was born.

Hi! Andy and Laura here… Nice to meet you! You’ve followed our page and we thank you for that, but do you have any idea how we got into this market?

Years ago, Laura’s daughter had attended a kids & canines camp in her youth and brought home her newfound knowledge of making homemade dog toys. Fast forward seven or eight years when, after a move and some free time, Laura finds her stock of fleece. Determined to use up the fabric and donate the toys to an animal shelter, she gets ambition. Andy sits by watching with curiosity. Initially, he doesn’t want to partake, but then gets a wild hare and has several design ideas he wants to implement and eventually buckles.

Within a couple months (and the unfortunate closure of JoAnn Fabrics), we had created several different designs and handmade hundreds of toys prompting us to go, 🤔 “Do you think we could create a small business out of this?” Thus, My Dog Has Fleece was born.

We’ve only been at this a little more than a year, but have enjoyed creating enrichment toys to help strengthen the bond between pet parents and their furbabies. We currently tend to venture out to shows and expos in the Wisconsin/Illinois areas- generally within 75 miles of our home in Beloit, WI.

At this moment, we don’t have an online shop, but truly hope to create something in the near future. For now, if there is anything you have questions about or any colors or designs you want to see, please message us. We’d be happy to sell outside of our shows.
