We spend so much time focused on our horses training and well being we often forget to take care of or focus on ourselves as their teammate. Through unique techniques and use of the incredible Balimo stool in this clinic you will focus on the two aspects of the rider score for dressage;
1. RIDER’S POSITION AND SEAT (Alignment; posture; stability; weight placement; following mechanics of the gaits)
2. RIDER'S CORRECT AND EFFECTIVE USE OF AIDS(Clarity; subtlety; independence; accuracy of test)
Colleen is a USDF Bronze & Silver Medalist as well as rewarded a Shinning Star Sportsmanship award. She has now graduated from USDF L program. As a young rider she had the help of multiple trainers with unique perspectives. Lendon Gray, Vicki Hammers-O’Neil & Danielle Akin-Sintoni who were influential in supporting her to continue to work on herself as a rider & trainer while young horses progressed up the levels. Big goals were set for Dressage Seat Medal Finals. The first year at 14 years old in the 14-18 year old division she earned a Silver medal on a borrowed horse. Two years later she returned to receive a Gold Medal on a borrowed horse. Colleen has since worked with several Jr/YR’s who went on and competed in Dressage Seat Finals as well as Amateurs at the regional level.
The goal of these clinics is to provide riders with the awareness of their position to continue to be the most effective rider they can be for their horse & live up to their fullest potential as a dressage rider.
