Update on Emma (formerly Bella who was less than an hour away from being euthanized at the Downey shelter last Spring).

First of all, thank you to everyone who supported Emma through her recovery from pneumonia when we first rescued her.

After her hospitalization, Emma was fostered, then adopted by my husband and myself. She weighed approximately 65 pounds when she was rescued, and currently weighs 100 pounds. She is spunky, loving and gets along great with her two canine siblings, SheShe and Sammy.

A few months ago, she went through a training program with The Pet Prescription Team and became a certified Therapy Dog! She visits patients and staff at the City of Hope, various school groups, and a home for brain injured children. She is also one of our amazing Sunny Saints ambassadors who comes out to our adoption events to show people how awesome a rescued Saint Bernard can be.

She went from being mere minutes away from the end of her life, to enriching the lives of many, many people.

Please continue to support Sunny Saints with your monetary donations. We know times are hard for everyone, but every dollar helps in our mission to rescue, medically treat and find the best adopter for each of our wonderful Saints.

Sadly we are reporting that Purple Bear did not make it despite the Vet Hospital's best efforts. Unfortunately she took a sudden turn for the worst early this morning & quickly passed away. She was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia & her little body just couldn't overcome.

We'd truly like to thank everyone that donated for her care or kept her in your thoughts & prayers. We appreciate you so much! We really did think she was going to get through this. 💔😓

Unfortunately we have depleted alot of funds recently & would appreciate your continued support & donations. We aren't able to rescue dogs without our followers & donors. We are a strictly volunteer run rescue & rely solely on donations to help save every life we take on. Sadly every rescue we do doesn't turn out how we'd hoped it would. Today is one of those days. 😓

We'd also like to thank our foster Shaun who has done an incredible job with some of our more difficult medical cases. He truly loves every foster dog in his care & he is so attentive to Honey Bear's litter. We appreciate all you do!

We will post more updates about Honey Bear & her litter very soon. The rest of her litter has been checked by a Vet & they are all healthy & happy. ❤️🐾

Update on Honey Bear's purple pup. She's 5 weeks old today & still weighs about 1.65 lbs. She's been doing good up until Friday night when we took her to the ER vet. They treated her & we brought her back home to her foster. Saturday she was doing worse again so we took her to EPIC which is a 24 hr hospital & hospitalized her for treatment.

Today's 4am update sounded like she was a bit better so we were encouraged.

Our noon update was not so good & she's declining again despite treatment. We do not know definitively what is wrong with her yet.

Vet is running more tests this afternoon so hopefully we get some answers. She obviously needs to remain hospitalized for at least another day. We've already exceeded the deposit we paid last night for 1 day of hospitalization & will need to pay another $2,000 tonight for another day there.

We really need your help to give this precious baby girl a chance at life. She was fine a week ago & we had no concerns. We'd very much appreciate any & all donations to help us help her. Please visit sunnysaints.org to DONATE. If you've already donated Thank You so much!

Please pray, send positive thoughts or good juju for her full recovery. ❤️🐾🙏🤞

Calling for all help! One of Honey Bear's puppies went to emergency vet last night due to her lack of interest in eating. She is known as purple collar, which is the runt of the litter, just under 2 pounds at four weeks. She got subq fluids, antibiotics, a B12 shot & probiotics a few hours ago. Things started to take a turn where she no longer wanted to eat after careful consideration with the Rescue team we’re in route to Epic Vets emergency hospital. We want to give this girl every chance possible to fight now more than ever. We need donations. If you can spare $5 or $10 or $20 no amount is too little. Www.sunnysaints.org our PayPal donate button. You can use a debit card or a credit card. You do not have to have a PayPal account. Thank you for your consideration. Please keep us in your prayers.
