🎙️Trixie
Trixie is a 3-month-old mixed breed female with some hound heritage sprinkled in. She currently weighs 14 pounds (as of 6/10) and is expected to grow into a nice medium-sized companion around 35 to 40 pounds.
Trixie is a sweet, sensitive girl who can be a little shy when meeting new people and dogs. Once she realizes everyone is friendly, though, she warms up quickly and shows off her playful side. She loves being outdoors and enjoys romping around with other dogs. If those dogs happen to be much bigger than she is, however, don’t be surprised if she lets out a dramatic scream worthy of the opening scene of a horror movie before realizing they’re perfectly nice.
She is crate trained, doing exceptionally well with house training, and has already learned both “sit” and “touch.” She’s currently working on her leash-walking skills and is eager to keep learning.
At mealtime, Trixie prefers a little personal space. She doesn’t appreciate other dogs strolling past her food bowl and may offer a grumble to voice her opinion. Because of this, she does best eating in her crate or another quiet area where she can enjoy her meal without worrying that someone might steal a bite. Outside of mealtime, she shares toys beautifully and especially loves balls, tough chew toys, and anything made of fabric.
Trixie is smart, affectionate, playful, and fully committed to her naps once the day is done. She can be a little stubborn from time to time (enter the hound genetics), but she’s also eager to bond with her people. And despite her hound roots, she’s actually a fairly quiet girl overall.
She is toy motivated and will need continued positive praise and reinforcement/redirection to grow into the gal she’s destined to be.
