Sunny update! ☀️🐾

This sweet girl is doing AWESOME! 🥰 Her cherry eye surgery went beautifully, and her eyes are already looking SO much better! 👀✨

Sunny will now have two weeks to recover in a loving foster home while we continue searching for the forever family she deserves. 🏡❤️

Meet sweet Sunny! ☀️ This little 12-pound girl was found as a stray and ended up at an overcrowded shelter. We were able to pull her to safety, knowing she needed more veterinary care.

Sunny has cherry eyes that require surgery, and she’s heading to the vet today to get them repaired. Her estimated surgery cost is $396.58, and we would love to have our village help us get this little girl the care she needs. ❤️

🚨 PSA FROM THE BLACK CAT DEPARTMENT! 🚨

Apparently, we have some explaining to do. 😳

Five of our very handsome house panthers would like it to be PUBLICLY KNOWN that yesterday was National Black Cat Appreciation Day... and their humans completely missed it. 🐈‍⬛

Wybie. Starling. Coraline. Raven. Frank.

They have gathered. They have conferred. They have determined that this level of disrespect cannot go unanswered. 😂

They will be speaking with management immediately to discuss appropriate consequences for the forgetful humans. Among the proposals currently being considered:

🐾 Mandatory tuna for the next 30 days
🐾 Unlimited Churu distribution
🐾 Extra-long cuddle sessions
🐾 Humans must serve as personal heated beds
🐾 Immediate installation of a dedicated Black Cat Appreciation Day calendar
🐾 And possibly... NO MORE HUMAN NAPS WITHOUT A CAT ON TOP OF THEM. 😾

Management is deeply concerned. Negotiations are ongoing.

But these five would like to make one thing VERY clear:

They may have been overlooked on their special day, but they are absolutely NOT to be overlooked when it comes to adoption! 🖤

All five are STILL looking for their forever families! 🏡🐾 So perhaps the best way to make up for our terrible, unforgivable oversight is to ADOPT A BLACK CAT. 😉

Because black cats aren't bad luck. They're good luck with whiskers. 🖤🐈‍⬛

And apparently, they also have lawyers. 😂

‼️ TWO WEEK FOSTER NEEDED!! ‼️

We have a hero waiting on the other side, but we need your help to bridge the gap. One of our incredible adopters in Connecticut, who adopted from us last year, is ready to open their heart and home to save another shelter dog! 🥰

Enter Addie. She is currently sitting in a completely full shelter with zero space left, and she needs out immediately. Addie is a dog friendly, 39-pound sweetheart who already has a forever family waiting for her, but she needs a safe place to crash for just two weeks until her transport day arrives on 8/28.

🐾 PUPDATE!! 🐾

Nikki’s video got A LOT of reactions and comments on our post two weeks ago. We know that some people simply watched the video and didn’t fully understand her story. And honestly, we can’t expect everyone to. Not everyone spends time in overcrowded shelters like we do, where we see firsthand just how terrified so many dogs are. 💔 Sadly it’s far too common. And yes, it’s heartbreaking. We agree. That’s exactly why we work so hard to get them OUT. 🐶❤️ 🩹

But the reality is that even the ones we’re able to help is just a tiny drop in an ocean of need. We wish we could save them all. We can’t. But we could save Nikki. And WE DID! 🙌🎉

Nikki GOT OUT last week! 🥳🚐❤️ This is her freedom ride photo, and she’s already in Maryland settling in with her foster-to-adopt family. 🏡🐾 Look at that face. THIS is why we do what we do. 🥹

This is what can happen when a village comes together. When people share a post, network with others rescues, donate, foster, transport, open their homes, and simply refuse to give up on a dog.

We still need a foster for these two small kittens. Can anyone help? Their foster is going out of town and we need to move them to a new home where they can get the attention and care they need. They can go to the same or separate foster homes. The same foster home would be easiest.

🚨 WE ARE FULL. REALLY, REALLY FULL. 🚨

Every single day, we receive multiple requests asking us to help with stray animals, owner surrenders, abandoned pets, and animals who need somewhere to go. And as much as we wish we could say yes, the reality is that WE ARE FULL. 🐾

Our foster homes are overloaded. We are tired. And the biggest problem? We simply aren’t getting enough animals adopted quickly enough to make room for the next ones who need us. 😔

We regularly ask for new fosters, but unfortunately, very few people step up. And without more foster homes AND more adoptions, we have nowhere to put the animals who we're asked to help.

So today we want to introduce you to MANY of the dogs and cats who have been waiting with us for FIVE MONTHS OR MORE. 💔 They are still waiting. Still hoping. Still deserving of a family of their own.

Would you like to give one of them a forever home? 🐶🐱 Could you open your home to a foster dog or cat and help relieve the load on one of our current foster families?

We cannot take in anyone else until we make some room. That means we need ADOPTERS and FOSTERS. 🏡❤️

At just 5 months old, Pumbaa is the perfect mix of sweet, snuggly, and silly! ❤️ His gorgeous brindle coat and golden eyes will catch your attention, and his gentle, old-soul personality will steal your heart. 🥹

He loves being close to his people and soaking up affection… but toss him a toy and WATCH OUT! 😂🎾 Suddenly it’s puppy wiggles, zoomies, playful pounces, and goofy fun!

Pumbaa is great with other friendly dogs 🐶, good with kids 👧🧒, and would be happy with a canine sibling or as your one-and-only. He’d fit beautifully into just about any loving home!

What a BIG weekend for our rescue! 🐾❤️ We had 14 of our precious furbabies head off to their loving forever homes! 🏡✨ Twelve traveled to families between Maryland and Vermont, and two sweet babies made their way to Florida. We are SO thrilled for each of them and can’t wait to see all the memories they’ll make with their new families! 🥹🐶🐱

Thank you to everyone who entrusted us with helping you find your new furbaby—or two! It means so much to be a small part of these happily-ever-afters! 💜

And don’t worry... we still have MANY more waiting! 🐾 We have kittens and cats of every color, dogs of all ages and sizes, and plenty of wonderful personalities just waiting for their person to find them. Whether your perfect match is someone we have right now or someone who may come along later, we’d love to help you find them! 💕
