We are a foster-based animal rescue supporting the midlands of South Carolina.

Our primary mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need, while providing critical support to pet owners facing hardships.

💜6/13 Update from Mom:

“Leroy's doing good. His tail has been waggin significantly more then the last few days. I don't think I let you know what the doc told me. He had a rupture eardrum on the right ear which he think caused the infection. But they were able to get junk out, gave us a flush solution to use to get anything else out and keep it clean while the other meds do their thing.

He gets to go to his favorite place at grandma and grandpa's. Leroy does still have a head tilt, but doc said that it may or may not stay until the ear heals, we'll have to keep an eye on it and see. It could just be a rupture, but they are worried expesically since he's older that he might have Idiopathic Vestibular Disease, but we won't know unless it flares up later.

Now that we know, I will be on high alert to the symptoms and know what to do if I see it coming. We'll likely have the anti-nausea meds on hand just in case with the vet on speed dial if it turns into a chronic thing.”

⏰8:30pm UPDATE: Leroy was sedated for his procedure and Mama says he’s doing as good as can be expected. Send them some love in the comments and thank you to everyone that has donated. ❤️‍🩹

The total cost ended up being $410 and I’ll be posting the paid bill when I receive a copy. The rescue account is now in the negatives. I desperately need donations so we can continue helping with costs like Patatas tail amputation, Storms full vetting, and emergencies within our Mutts & Meows Family. Everyone’s favorite teddy bear has been diagnosed with vestibular disease. 🥺

His momma emptied her savings getting the diagnosis and is currently at the specialty vet to have his ears flushed and hopefully ease his symptoms. 👂🏻💦

🆘Donations needed!🆘

No less than a week ago, I reached out to my 3 recurring monthly donors telling them that I was slowly going to be shutting down and that I wanted their funds to be actively used, not sitting in our bank account waiting for an emergency.

‼️Cue massive influx of messages for help.

Dogs that truly needed rehomed, people doing everything they can to keep their dog while they’re going through hard times, people reaching out because their neighbor was feeding stray, unfixed cats and now they have a whole intact colony on their property that needs TNR, etc. but they got a “No” from all of the other rescues they tried if they even had the time to send that. 🥺

I will not be in taking any animals. After ending up with 90% of the animals that were pulled with a foster commitment last year in my home and nearly losing my mind, that will always be a no. 🚫

However, I would love to be able to continue helping the community members other rescues have to turn away because they are full. Ones that need help with vetting, emergency bills, TNR, education. 💜

Storm who is in need of a long term foster was fully vetted today and my rescue account is nearly gone. If you have it in your heart and bank account, please make a donation so I can continue helping those that need it most.

💜Artemis is in need of a PATIENT and COMPASSIONATE adopter who can help ease her anxious temperament and teach her to enjoy life. 😌🧘🏻

Here’s her story…

💔Artemis was dumped at a house out in the middle of nowhere in the country. Her vet thinks she was a hunting dog that didn't perform well and that's why she was dumped. Artemis ended up with an experienced dog loving couple that have done everything in their powers to help this little girl but they run a dog sitting business out of their home and it’s become too overstimulating for sweet Artemis. 😵‍💫

💊Artemis does take medications for her anxiety and has a special but AFFORDABLE diet her family has put together to keep her anxious little tummy happy that only ends up costing about $45/month including the food and medication.

She has not yet been evaluated by a trainer or behaviorist but we are willing to pay for a consultation if the change of scenery doesn’t help her anxiety. 🤞🏽

🐾Artemis likes other calm dogs and cats and is very gentle with both. She has a 75lb pit friend but also really enjoys dogs her size. She’s currently a little underweight at 16lbs but otherwise has a clean bill of health and was spayed and fully vetted at the beginning of this year. 🏥💉

Artemis eats and sleeps in her crate and this smart little girl knows that “Get in your bed!” means its crate time! 🛏️😴

💕She loves snuggling in bed with her humans and dog buddies, car rides, and goes crazy for pumpkin! Artemis gets along with all people but it does take her a little while to warm up with strangers. She doesn’t like going to the vet and thinks packages laying around on the floor are creepy. 📦🚫

🏡Artemis would do best in a calm home without young children. She would also prefer a home with another calm dog or cat if possible.

🏛️The Greek goddess Artemis was known for being the patron and protector of young children. It’s time for us to find Artemis her own patron and protector. 💪🏼

‼️Urgent long term foster(s) needed-Plan in place to ensure foster term is a set period that doesn’t get extended. Open to multiple people splitting foster term‼️

🌪️From Storm’s mama: “I’m reaching out because I desperately need temporary fostering for my dog, Storm. Due to my current housing situation, I am unable to keep her with me right now, but this would only be temporary—about 5 to 6 months—until I am able to move somewhere she can come with me.

Storm is family to me, and my biggest fear is having to permanently give her up. I am doing everything I can to avoid that and am hoping someone can help us through this difficult situation.”

✅Friendly to children, males, females, and strangers.

🥔Now introducing, Patatas!🥔

This sweet little ~5year old potato was rescued by two of our Mutts & Meows family.

He’s got that exotic shorthair appearance and is now rocking a cropped tail after the veterinary team realized he had severe nerve damage in his tail, making him extra unique.

Patatas is fully vetted, and outside of his tail which is on the road to healing, he had a clean bill of health and doesn’t mind calm dogs or calm cats.

We’re now accepting pre-adoption applications as Patatas will be staying with us until he fully healed.

Please disregard his current haircut, Patatas was extremely matted so he had a little shave for his comfort, he’s currently very self conscious, so please no comments

I’m heartbroken to share that we lost a beloved member of our Mutts & Meows Family, Ron Preacher last Friday, May 15th. 💔

I had only just met Ron this past January when he adopted Stevie FNA Kabob. Ron was so easy to love, a big teddy bear, a man of God, and a perfect addition to our rescue family. He was always incredibly engaging with our social media and talked about his goals of helping us build our “fan base”.

Ron lived an exciting life and wore many hats throughout, from family man, to combat medic, to NICU nurse. Ron was a proud veteran and loved his family and Stevie more than anything in the world. 💓

I had the pleasure of having lunch with Ron and Stevie one day where we shared exciting bits of our lives as well as some of our traumas. Ron was a prayer warrior and incredibly supportive while I came to terms with the rescue not working out the way I had hoped. I’d like to share one of the last messages I received from Ron that I think shows what a beautiful and compassionate soul he was. I had just told him life was kind of heavy and I had a lot going on…

“Me and Stevie pray for you every day. I’m a huge fan of you no matter what you do. You don’t have to do anything just be you, but I don’t believe in coincidences. There’s a reason that God brought you and I together I believe in Providence and I don’t know what that reason is right now but I do know that I’m praying for you and that we love you and we miss you. Come and sit and share some of that load with me I can help you carry it. I got big shoulders.” 🥹

Thank you to all who donated towards his adoption of Stevie and for the support you showed him during his earlier hospitalization. I know Ron was so grateful for all of you. Stevie is safe and I’ve reached out to his daughter to see what we can do to help.

Thank you for sharing your love with Stevie and our rescue family. I know you are happily home with your creator but the love and light you radiated will be so greatly missed. Steady as she goes my friend 🚢⚓️

Jed reminds me so much of my Jack who was also severely emaciated and heartworm positive. ❤️‍🩹

Jack was supposed to be a two week medical foster to help him gain weight for neuter. He ended up never leaving and the bond we developed as he began to heal and finally learn what life was supposed to be like is irreplaceable. Jack has been a big brother to so many fosters and provided a comfort that only another animal can provide to some especially timid pups AND kittens.💜

Fostering saves lives in more ways than one.
