Our dominant rooster needs a name!

Here at Starfire our chickens believe they are wild birds and get to live their best lives by hanging out in the trees, and yes, Kohl is a Swedish flower hen! She’s just solid grey.

A few random hens we use for eggs, but Uhtred is doing a good job keeping the flock together. And they love hanging out on the branches in the burn pile, theres always something on there for them to play on ❤️

Meet Uhtred everyone. He’s Ragnar’s oldest son and a beautiful young rooster. He’s taking after his dad and starting to be sweeter to his girls. I think he’ll be a rooster to be proud of in no time.

I have a sad announcement. One of our neighbors dogs managed to get through three fences to get in our yard for a killing spree. It got 8 birds in total but saddest of all is our beloved Ragnar, our first rooster. He will be missed ❤️

Edit to add: Ragnar was a fighter. He died protecting his girls. I can tell by where the feathers are he fought till the end. I’m so sad we lost him
