Before he was Syd, he was #18.
He was born to feral parents in a colony at a Citgo station, and let me tell you, this little boy made me WORK for it.
Syd was the last kitten I managed to trap from that group. Somehow, that tiny little body had already survived a harsh winter outside before I finally convinced him to walk into a trap.
Getting him inside was only the beginning. At first, Syd wasn’t quite sure what to think about humans or this whole indoor-living arrangement. But then he discovered warm beds, full bowls, safety, and people who kept showing up with kindness.
Turns out, indoor life wasn’t so bad.
Eventually, #18 became Syd. And Syd became somebody’s baby.
That is one of the things I love most about rescue. Sometimes the animal you see hiding outside, running from you, or surviving in a colony has absolutely no idea yet what their life could become.
Sometimes the difference between surviving and thriving is simply somebody deciding they’re worth the effort.
Syd absolutely was.
Help us bridge the gap with MAP and help them find their way home.
