Carmen is back… and we know her person is still out there. 💔
Carmen was recently returned to the shelter. Not because she did anything wrong—but because sometimes life circumstances just don’t line up the way we hope.
Her adopter was genuinely upset bringing her back, and left us with a detailed report so we could help find Carmen the right fit this time:
🐾 Knows how to ask to go outside
🐾 Sleeps through the night (8 PM – 6:30 AM) in her kennel
🐾 Rides great in a car—no sickness
🐾 Loves being outside (seriously… she loves it)
🐾 Enjoys rooting around in the grass
🐾 Good with goats, unsure about chickens/cats
🐾 Very minimal shedding
🐾 Not bothered by loud storms (she slept through a hailstorm!)
🐾 Especially fond of men, but warms up well to her people
Her previous adopter said it best—if she had a fenced yard, Carmen would still be home.
Carmen would likely thrive in a home where she can spend time outdoors, or even in a setting like a nursing home or care facility where her calm, steady presence could really shine.
Returns like this are never easy. But this wasn’t failure—it was someone doing what was best for both themselves and Carmen.
Now it’s our job… and YOUR help… to find her the home she truly deserves. 🐶❤️
Carmen is spayed, current on vaccines and preventatives, vet checked, and microchipped.
Let’s get this girl back out of the kennel and into a home where she can put down roots (literally 😄).
