HAPPY LABOR DAY FROM LAMAR COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES

Today, we pause to recognize and celebrate the hardworking men and women whose dedication helps keep Lamar County, Georgia, and communities across America strong.

Labor Day was established to honor the contributions of American workers and the countless individuals whose efforts have helped build, sustain, and strengthen our nation. While the holiday marks the unofficial end of summer for many, its true purpose is to recognize the value of hard work, service, sacrifice, and perseverance.

Here in Lamar County, those values have been passed down through generations. Our community's roots are deeply tied to agriculture, and we remain grateful for the farmers and ranchers who rise before dawn, work long hours, and help feed families across our country. Their commitment reflects the spirit that has helped shape this community for generations.

That same spirit can be found everywhere around us today.

We see it in first responders who answer calls at all hours of the day and night. We see it in teachers who help shape future generations. We see it in healthcare professionals who care for others, utility workers who keep essential services running, construction workers who build our communities, truck drivers who keep goods moving, small business owners who invest in their hometowns, military personnel and veterans who serve our nation, and public servants who dedicate themselves to improving the lives of others.

We also recognize the many jobs that often go unnoticed. The early mornings, late nights, weekend shifts, holiday duties, and behind-the-scenes work that keeps our community functioning each and every day. These efforts may not always receive recognition, but they make a difference.

At Lamar County Animal Services, we are proud to serve a community built on hard work, integrity, and a willingness to help one another. Whether you work in the fields, an office, a classroom, on the road, in a uniform, or behind the scenes, your contributions matter and are appreciated.

ATTENTION, PET OWNERS! 📣

Lamar County Animal Services is excited to partner with Barnesville Animal Clinic to offer a FREE Drive-Thru Rabies Clinic for pets!

🌎 OPEN TO EVERYONE — NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE!

You do not have to live in Lamar County to participate. This clinic is open to pet owners from anywhere!

🐶 150 FREE RABIES VACCINATIONS!

That’s right — 150 rabies vaccinations will be available FREE of charge!

Additional vaccines will also be offered for a set price, while supplies last. Once those additional vaccines are gone, they will no longer be available at the clinic.

To help keep everyone safe and make the clinic run smoothly:

🐕 Dogs must remain in your vehicle unless a staff member asks you to bring your dog out.

🐕 All dogs must be on a leash at all times and held by an adult.

🐈 All cats must be in a clean carrier.

⚠️ Please notify staff if your dog has anxiety, fear, or behavioral concerns. This allows our team to take the appropriate precautions and help make the experience as safe and comfortable as possible.

🐾 Rescue Transfer: Wyatt 🐾

Lamar County Animal Services is pleased to share another successful rescue transfer.

Wyatt, a sweet Beagle/Shepherd mix, has officially transferred into the care of Ruff Dog Rescue. Through this partnership, Wyatt will receive the veterinary care he needs and, once ready, will be made available for adoption through Ruff Dog Rescue.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Andrea Marsh and Ruff Dog Rescue GA for continuing to partner with us and for their commitment to helping animals in Lamar County and surrounding communities. These partnerships are an important part of our effort to provide positive outcomes for animals in our care.

Wyatt, your next chapter starts here. 🐾❤️

🐾 Rescue Transfer: A New Beginning 🐾

Another successful rescue transfer for Lamar County Animal Services. ❤️

This little black Chihuahua came into our care through a difficult situation, but today marks an important step toward a brighter future.

He has officially transferred into the care of The Dolly Goodpuppy Society, where he’ll receive the care, support, and opportunity he deserves as he continues his journey toward a loving home.

We are incredibly grateful to Dolly GoodPuppy for stepping up for this little guy and for the continued work you do to help animals in need.

Sometimes, a new beginning is exactly what they need. 🐾❤️

Another successful transfer. Another opportunity for a better tomorrow.
