How is it possible that I feel like I forgot everything about having a newborn?

Getting ready for baby #2 has meant remembering burping, wake windows, and somehow relearning swaddles. Seriously, how are swaddles so hard?

I thought I was giving Ellie the best life possible.

I loved her, spoiled her, took her on adventures, and never questioned whether I was doing the right things for her.

Looking back, there’s one mistake I wish I had caught much sooner.

Thankfully, we made changes. More walks. More play. A healthier lifestyle. And over time, Ellie reached her ideal weight.

Today, she’s almost 10 years old, 19 pounds lighter than her heaviest weight, and honestly has WAY more energy than she did when she was 3.
