What do you get when you take a deaf dog, a rescue, and a puppy for a hike?

It sounds like the beginning of a naughty joke. 😂

Surprisingly, it went pretty smoothly—aside from a few differences of opinion about which direction we were going and exactly how fast we needed to get there.

Three very different dogs, three different personalities, and three different ways of experiencing the trail. That's part of the fun. 🐾
We sniffed, explored, practiced walking together, and burned off some energy along the way.

Otis started out missing home, so he got the full VIP treatment: extra treats, chews, and endless couch cuddles. 😂 Soon, he was happily by my side, catching breezes, watching squirrels, and keeping a close eye on Vlad the cat. 🐈

He and Charlie agreed on the important things—great treats, good company, and cats being suspicious—though Charlie made his anti-cat feelings very clear. 🤣

Otis may have arrived missing home, but by the end, he seemed pretty sure my couch belonged to him. 💙🐾

🐾 Openings this week at Adventure Awaits Fido! 🐾

I currently have:

• 4 small-group daycare spots available Tuesday
• 1 small-group daycare spots available Thursday
• Pickup and drop-off transportation available for daycare, depending on your location and route
• Full for boarding Friday through Sunday

Daycare is intentionally kept small so dogs receive attentive supervision, appropriate playmates, rest time, and enrichment—not an overwhelming, crowded environment.

Boarding dogs stay in a peaceful, home-like setting with outdoor play and plenty of individual attention. New dogs must meet vaccination and temperament requirements.

Baths, nail trims, enrichment, basic obedience training, walks, cuddle time, seasonal photos, and other add-ons are also available.

Located in Baldwin and serving families throughout Northeast Georgia.

Would You Use the Adventure Awaits Fido! Shuttle?

I’m considering adding scheduled pickup and drop-off service for Adventure Awaits Fido! I need to know who would be genuinely interested—and able to commit to using it regularly.

The shuttle could be used for:
🐶 Dog daycare
🏠 Boarding
🐾 Adventure Hikes
🛁 Baths
💅 Nail trims

Daycare is available:
📅 Tuesday–Thursday: 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
📅 Saturday: 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

The planned daycare morning meeting spots are:
🚐 Cornelia Ingles: 7:45–7:55 a.m.
🚐 Cornelia Planet Fitness: 8:05–8:15 a.m.
🚐 Dollar General in Baldwin: 8:30–8:45 a.m.

You would meet the shuttle at your selected location, and I would safely transport your dog to Adventure Awaits Fido! Afternoon return times would be finalized based on the route and service scheduled.
If you could realistically commit, please comment or message me with:

🐾 Your dog’s name
📍 Your preferred meeting spot
📅 Which day or days you would use
🔁 How often you would use the shuttle
🐶 Whether you’re interested in daycare, baths, nail trims or a combination

If these times or locations don’t work for you, but you would definitely use the shuttle, please tell me what time and location would work better. I’ll see whether it could fit into the route!

Please respond even if your dog isn’t currently enrolled. I’m trying to determine whether there is enough serious interest to make this service happen!

We held an important Labor Day staff meeting today.

One employee volunteered for supervised field research—mostly sniffing.
Three attempted a team-building exercise with no clear plan.
Two commandeered the office furniture.
One slept through the entire meeting.

Not a single task was completed.

Productivity: 0%
Morale: 100%
Snacks requested: unlimited 😂🐾

Rest assured, your dogs are spending Labor Day exactly as they should—playing, exploring, relaxing, and letting me handle all the actual labor.

Some dogs are perfectly happy with a comfy couch.

Loki would like to respectfully decline. 😂🐾

Give him trees, trails, new smells, sunshine through the leaves and enough room to stretch those legs—and suddenly you get THIS coming straight at you. 💨

That’s why I love taking dogs on adventures. It’s not just about wearing them out. They get to sniff, explore, move their bodies and experience something new.

And judging by Loki’s face… I’d say the woods got a five-star review. 😂🌲❤️

Sometimes dogs have a way of humbling you. 😂

I like to think I’m pretty good at figuring out what a dog needs.

And then a Husky shows up and says, “That’s cute. I no care.” 😂

Atlas has been having a hard time settling in, so I’ve been pulling out just about everything I can think of.

🚗 Rides in the car with the windows cracked just enough to catch ALL the good smells.
🌲 Walks through the woods around the property so he can sniff, explore and decompress.
💦 Filled up the pool because… Husky + Georgia in August. Enough said.
🐾 Time in the O.G. dog park to wander around at his own pace.
🚗 Another ride.
🌲 Another walk.
🛒 A trip to Tractor Supply.
🏃‍♀️ And we ran 2.5 miles Sunday morning (Okay, so it was more like Atlas said, "Run faster, chubby girl!" and pulled me along!) 😂

And calming treats?

Yes. Please.

There have also been PLENTY of Husky sounds along the way. If you know, you know. 🎶🐺

Sometimes caring for dogs means realizing the thing that works beautifully for one dog means absolutely nothing to another. So you adjust. (And put on headphones.) You try something else. You pay attention to what they're telling you and keep looking for the thing that helps them feel a little more comfortable.

And sometimes... you get your steps in while doing it. 😂❤️

Atlas was feeling pretty brave right up until the Tractor Supply skeleton started talking. 😂 Apparently ‘socialization outing’ now includes exposure to disgruntled undead property owners. 💀🐾
He recovered. His dignity may take a little longer.
