Give him trees, trails, new smells, sunshine through the leaves and enough room to stretch those legs—and suddenly you get THIS coming straight at you. 💨

That’s why I love taking dogs on adventures. It’s not just about wearing them out. They get to sniff, explore, move their bodies and experience something new.

And judging by Loki’s face… I’d say the woods got a five-star review. 😂🌲❤️

Sometimes dogs have a way of humbling you. 😂

I like to think I’m pretty good at figuring out what a dog needs.

And then a Husky shows up and says, “That’s cute. I no care.” 😂

Atlas has been having a hard time settling in, so I’ve been pulling out just about everything I can think of.

🚗 Rides in the car with the windows cracked just enough to catch ALL the good smells.
🌲 Walks through the woods around the property so he can sniff, explore and decompress.
💦 Filled up the pool because… Husky + Georgia in August. Enough said.
🐾 Time in the O.G. dog park to wander around at his own pace.
🚗 Another ride.
🌲 Another walk.
🛒 A trip to Tractor Supply.
🏃‍♀️ And we ran 2.5 miles Sunday morning (Okay, so it was more like Atlas said, "Run faster, chubby girl!" and pulled me along!) 😂

And calming treats?

Yes. Please.

There have also been PLENTY of Husky sounds along the way. If you know, you know. 🎶🐺

Sometimes caring for dogs means realizing the thing that works beautifully for one dog means absolutely nothing to another. So you adjust. (And put on headphones.) You try something else. You pay attention to what they're telling you and keep looking for the thing that helps them feel a little more comfortable.

And sometimes... you get your steps in while doing it. 😂❤️

Atlas was feeling pretty brave right up until the Tractor Supply skeleton started talking. 😂 Apparently ‘socialization outing’ now includes exposure to disgruntled undead property owners. 💀🐾

I just realized how much of my stuff has slowly migrated into the kennel building. 😂

Refrigerator? Yep.
TV? Yep.
Guitar? Yep.
Weights? Also yep.
Couch? Obviously.

And now I’m considering a fold-out couch because apparently regular couch space is no longer sufficient for nighttime cuddles. 🤣

At this rate, Chuck, my partner, is going to walk out here one day and realize I’ve completely moved in.

In my defense… look at my roommates. 😜🐾

The new arrivals have checked in, and I can already tell you one thing:

Not a single one of these dogs read the same personality manual. 😂

🐾 Bentley: “I love you. I love them. I love everybody. Okay, that was fun… I’m going over here by myself now.”
Sweet, social, and perfectly capable of deciding he has had enough people for one day. 😂

🐼 Harley — who has somehow already become Panda around here:
“Where’s the food? Are we doing food games? Is that food? Do you have food? Also, you may pet me while I sit directly beside you.”
Panda has priorities and I respect them. 🤣

🐾 Grizzy… Grizz… Grizzly:
“I’m a little scared. Please don’t pet me. Actually, let’s just skip all that touching nonsense. Throw the ball. RUN WITH ME. Also, have you guys discovered how AMAZING a cold floor is?” 😂

Three new dogs. Three completely different personalities.

And honestly, this is one of my favorite parts of what I do. You don’t just get “a dog.” You get a whole little character with opinions, quirks, favorite games, boundaries and very specific ideas about how their vacation should go.

Apparently this week we have The Social Butterfly, The Snack Supervisor, and The Introverted Athlete. 🤣❤️🐾

Adventure Hike day! 🌲🐾

Gusgus got a break from the kennel and Kaia traded regular daycare for a day exploring the woods.

Creeks to splash beside, trails to sniff, rocks to climb, and so many new smells. Adventure hikes are a great way to wear dogs out both physically and mentally—because exploring a new place works that nose and brain just as much as those legs. ❤️

We may not have made it all the way to the waterfall this time, but these two definitely got their adventure on the trail. There will definitely be a next time.

Tired dogs. Happy dogs. Big adventures. 🐕🌿

Luna was officially the first one who declared the pool open for daycare today. 💦🐾

She started with a little inspection from the sidelines… then decided there was only one proper way to spend a summer afternoon: get in and stay awhile. 😂

Between those gorgeous blue eyes, wet little face, and her very serious pool party, Luna had me cracking up. She wasn’t interested in wild splashing, just a nice leisurely wade, a little paw-dipping, and plenty of time to cool off.

This is one of my favorite parts of summer at Adventure Awaits Fido!—letting the dogs enjoy the outdoors at their own pace. Some cannonball in. Some need convincing. And some, like Luna, simply turn the kiddie pool into their own private resort. 😎🌿

I am not the cheapest place to board your dog — and I know that, but I believe that I offer something unique and it truly is a special place for dogs! It's more like camp than a kennel! 😂🐾❤️

Because when your dog stays with me, I’m not just providing a place for them to sleep and letting them outside a few times a day.

I’m throwing the ball. Playing chase. Handing out treats. Giving cuddles. Watching TV with sleepy pups at night. Supervising outdoor play and stepping in when somebody gets a little too rowdy. 😂

I’m rewarding good choices and practicing recall, sit, down, stay and manners throughout the day — often without the dogs even realizing they’re “training” because we’re doing it through play and everyday life.

I’m setting up enrichment, watching personalities, helping nervous dogs feel comfortable, making sure everyone is getting along, cleaning up approximately 47 times a day 🧹🤣, and paying attention to all those little things that tell me whether a dog is happy, tired, overstimulated, nervous or ready for more fun.

Adventure Awaits Fido! was never meant to be a high-volume boarding facility.

It’s intentionally small because I want to know the dogs in my care.

So yes, there may be less expensive options — and there are other wonderful boarding facilities, too. Every family should choose the place that fits them best.

But when you choose us, you’re not simply paying for your dog to have somewhere to stay.

You’re paying for their day to be spent living, playing, learning, exploring and being loved. ❤️🐶

And that’s the kind of care I want Adventure Awaits Fido! to be known for.
