Good evening! I wanted to hop on and do a run down of our current process! We have had to change things as of late due to availability with spay/neutering and cost changes. I will happily send updates on any and all fosters to their upcoming owners anytime!
We have to go through different organizations now for spay/neuter now. Due to this change the cost to adopt will be $150.00. that will include their spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, feline distemper vaccine and feline leukemia vaccine.
They have to be 3lbs to receive the rabies vaccine and we prefer them to be 3 lbs to be spayed/neutered. I'm also a huge fan of bonding with your pet! Since that is the case we have two ways we do it!
First way is I schedule everything and it will all be under my name. I will take them to their appointment/pick up and let them heal up! Then when you receive your new furry family member you pay the adoption fee! You will receive all paperwork for them, it would just be in my name.
Second way is a prepay method. When they are ready, you have the option to pay the $150 adoption fee and I will schedule their appointment under YOUR information. The only thing that would be under me is the email address so I receive reminders of the appointment and any changes. Then they can go home with you, you would just need to take them/pick up for their appointment. In this circumstance we could also add a microchip option for an additional 11$.
This method allows time to bond with your new little buddy but also ensures us that you will in fact take them to the appointment and they will be fixed.
We do not allow any of our fosters to not be fixed! We have so many fosters bc of cats not being spayed/neutered so we do our utmost to prevent any future oops! Lol
I do understand $150.00 can seem a bit much at times however please understand we are not getting a single penny back in this fee. This fee solely covers the cost of them being fixed/vaccines. Any vet, food, litter, toys ECT cost all come from generous donations and our own pockets. So while I do understand not everyone is in the position for that cost, it's unfortunately not something we can change. We already spend so much to help as much as we can with the fosters, we can't just hand them out. They become like our own little babies and family. We just want what's best for them ❤️
