Today was a very special day here at Rece’s Mini & Toy Poodles! Our last black female Toy Poodle officially joined her wonderful new family, who traveled several hours to finally bring their sweet girl home!

What makes this moment even more meaningful is the dedication and trust this family placed in us throughout the entire process.

Living several hours away, they weren't able to watch their little girl grow in person. Instead, they trusted us to care for her, love her, and keep them connected through the photos, videos, and updates we shared along the way.

From watching her grow through a screen to finally holding her in their arms, today was the day they had been patiently waiting for!

It's moments like these that remind us why we put so much love and dedication into raising our puppies. We understand that welcoming a new family member is a big decision, especially when you're trusting a breeder from miles away.

To her wonderful new family: Thank you for making the long journey, trusting our program, and allowing us to be part of such a special moment in your lives. Seeing the excitement and happiness on everyone's faces made today even more rewarding.

And to our sweet little girl, we wish you a lifetime filled with love, laughter, adventures, and unforgettable memories with your new family!

A SWEET FAREWELL TO OUR LITTLE ROCCO!

Another bittersweet goodbye here at Rece’s Mini & Toy Poodles, as our handsome brown Toy Poodle, Rocco, officially went home with his wonderful new family!

What makes Rocco’s story even more special is that he was reserved the very day he was born!

From his very first day of life, Rocco already had a loving family eagerly awaiting the moment they could finally bring him home. And today, that special day finally arrived!

During their visit, Rocco made sure to show off his adorable personality! His new family got to watch him run, play, and do those precious little bunny hops that always bring a smile to our faces.

It’s moments like these that remind us why we love what we do. Watching our puppies grow from tiny newborns into playful, loving companions and then seeing them welcomed into their forever families is truly rewarding.

To Rocco’s new family: Thank you for trusting us and patiently waiting for your sweet boy. We couldn’t be happier knowing he’s beginning this new chapter surrounded by so much love.

And to our sweet Rocco, keep doing those adorable bunny hops, little man! We wish you a lifetime of happiness, adventures, cuddles, and beautiful memories with your new family.

POODLE SIZE 101 — LET’S CLEAR UP SOME CONFUSION!

We’ve been receiving quite a few messages from families interested in Miniature Poodles because they believe Minis are smaller than Toys.

So we thought this would be a great opportunity to share a little Poodle education!

Did you know that Poodles come in three officially recognized size varieties according to the American Kennel Club (AKC)?

TOY POODLE

* 10 inches or under at the shoulder
* The smallest recognized Poodle variety

MINIATURE POODLE

* Over 10 inches and up to 15 inches at the shoulder
* Larger than a Toy, but smaller than a Standard

STANDARD POODLE

* Over 15 inches at the shoulder
* The largest recognized Poodle variety

Here’s something important to remember!

The terms Toy, Miniature, and Standard refer to a Poodle’s height at the shoulder, not necessarily their weight.

While weight can give you an idea of their overall size, AKC classifications are based on height.

We also occasionally hear terms such as “Teacup,” “Tiny Toy,” or “Micro Poodle.” While these may be used to describe exceptionally small Poodles, they are not officially recognized AKC size varieties.

Here at Rece’s Mini & Toy Poodles, we focus on Toy and Miniature Poodles, and we believe in helping families understand the differences so they can choose the right companion for their home and lifestyle.

Whether you’re looking for a tiny Toy or a slightly larger Miniature, both can make wonderful companions!

Remember: A Miniature Poodle is actually BIGGER than a Toy Poodle!

Another Sweet Goodbye at Rece’s Mini & Toy Poodles!

Today was another bittersweet moment as our sweet girl Onyx officially went home with her new family!

It’s always such a special feeling watching our little ones grow from tiny newborns into playful, loving puppies, and then seeing them begin their next chapter with families who will love and cherish them.

We’re so excited for Onyx and all the wonderful memories she’ll make with her new family!

And with Onyx heading home, that leaves us with just ONE little gentleman — our sweet Buddy!

Buddy is officially the last of our current puppies who has not yet been reserved. For now, he’s enjoying all the extra cuddles, playtime, and attention while waiting for his own special family.

We want to thank all the wonderful families who have welcomed one of our babies into their homes. Your continued trust, love, and support mean so much to us.

And don’t worry, we’ll continue sharing adorable puppy moments, updates, and little adventures along the way!

One little Buddy, one future family, and a whole lot of love waiting to be shared.

River is on travel buddy duty!

Due to a family emergency, my wife had to head out of town, and our sweet River is going along to keep her company. River is an adult toy poodle who weighs just 4 pounds—small boy, big heart!
