Gluttony: The Uncomfortable Holiness Issue the Church rarely addresses or speaks upon through Love,Accountability,Conviction and God's Word.

When we talk about holiness, most of the time we immediately think about how we dress, how we act, or the words we speak. And yes, those things matter.

The Bible is clear about modesty, separation from the world, and living lives that reflect God’s nature.

But here’s something we often ignore, how we treat our bodies.

Scripture calls our body the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

We are bought with a price!

That means what we put into our bodies and how we care for them is just as much a holiness issue as what we put on them.

Gluttony is rarely preached about, yet the Bible warns us that overeating and lack of discipline can lead to destruction (Proverbs 23:20-21)
Proverbs 23:20-21
20 Do not be with heavy drinkers of w**e,
Or with gluttonous eaters of meat;
21 For the heavy drinker and the glutton will come to poverty,
And drowsiness will clothe one with rags.

Paul even wrote about those whose “God is their belly” (Philippians 3:19)
Philippians 3:19
19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their [a]appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who have their minds on earthly things.

Think about that for a moment. When food becomes more important than obedience, we have built an idol out of appetite.

We will shout about modest clothing, we will judge the person doing drugs or buying them in a back alley,we will condemn the person struggling with anger and rage and many more things.
But I can eat 4 plates at the all you can eat buffet and no issue,no judgement.

We will condemn worldliness but ignore when our health suffers because of a lack of self-control. Isn’t that the same spiritual principle?

Holiness is not just about what people see.
It’s about how we live, eat, and honor God in private and public.

Now, this doesn’t mean we can never enjoy a good meal. Food is a gift from God. But when we consistently give in to excess, when we feed our flesh more than our spirit, we slowly tear down the temple God gave us.

I know this is a demonic spirit I fight now and will continue to fight!
I also know many people I love and care for fight this same demon!

But I know I can be a Victor and find Freedom in and through Jesus Christ!
I know they can as well!

So here is the truth,
Dressing holy is important and honors God and your body and how you display it.
Talking holy is important and honors God and how you reflect Jesus with your power in your spoken word.
Living holy is important. It shows our surrender and obedience in Jesus.
Eating holy is important.

I am not judging anyone. I am just sharing what the Holy Spirit has spoken to me and convicted me with in my Faith.

It’s not about legalism. It’s about stewardship. God gave us one body.
How you treat it is an act of worship, stewardship and obedience.

So the next time you and I think about holiness, let’s not just look in the mirror at our clothing, speech and entertainment.
Let’s look at what we are putting in God's temple He has provided us to House His Spirit.

Our bodies, that temple are a physical example to us and others how we truly honor and live for God!

I hope and pray this message does for me in my Spirit and Faith.
It has convicted me. It absolutely challenges me in how I live my live and bring God glory!

Please pray for me!
Please pray for my surrender!
Please pray for my obedience!
Please pray for my Victory over the demonic oppression of Gluttony in my life!

I pray over the next few days, weeks, months and years you will physically see the change in my temple and in my Spirit in Honoring God!

GOD BLESS
LIVE IN FAITH NOT FEAR
