When I was setting up Poppy’s Place, I wanted to create the kind of place I'd be happy leaving my own dogs in. Somewhere calm, where dogs are treated like family, not just another booking.

I keep my groups small so every dog gets plenty of individual attention, cuddles, playtime, and a comfortable space to relax.

Whether your dog loves zooming around with friends or prefers a quieter day with human company, I take the time to get to know their personality and make sure they feel safe, happy, and at home. 🥰🥰

Doggy day care isn't always go-go-go!

I make sure every dog gets:
- Quiet rest time
- A cosy space to relax
- Structured play (not constant chaos!)

This helps prevent overstimulation and keeps dogs happy and calm when they go home 🐶

A tired dog is good but a calm, content dog is even better 🧡

Why is socialisation so important for dogs?

Socialisation isn’t just about dogs having a play with their pals, it plays a huge part in their confidence, behaviour and overall wellbeing.

Positive, supervised interaction with other dogs and new experiences can help dogs learn important social skills, burn off energy and build confidence in a safe environment.

Not every dog is the same, and that is absolutely ok. Some are confident social butterflies, while others need a little more time and support. The aim is always positive experiences and happy, relaxed dogs.

A well socialised dog is often a happier, more confident dog 🧡

I began my journey as a kennel maid and then went on to graduate as a veterinary nurse in 2019.

This means your dog benefits from:

But just as importantly, a fair old amount of experience caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities!
