Live from The Farm. Can we train our squirrels to horseback ride?

Hello Nutkin.

We love you.

Nutkin is one of Rosie’s babies. She was born in late July.

She is an absolute miracle. Her mom and her dad are both graduates of our rehab program, and we could not love her any more. Getting to watch her run the trees is a gift.

Apparently our chipmunks can’t read.

Almost suddenly, it looks like autumn in the woods.

And the squirrels have surely started securing their stashes. They have been so busy collecting nuts (and stalking me for almonds as I walk through the woods). These hungry, hard working friends are getting ready for what is to come.

Rosie’s baby made her way out of the nest this am! She knows where to find the snacks already.

I am pretty sure one of the Wh***ey Boys is her dad.

What should we name her?

Hey!

Whatcha doin down there? You putting snacks out for us again?

As the weather changes, and the days get shorter, the squirrels get hungrier. They are definitely eager for our snack station refills, which include nuts, rodent block, and fresh produce. Keeping our 2026 release babies healthy and well fed will help the overall health of our Forrest.
