Milley has babies!😍 Very first mini plush lop litter to be born here!

I had actually decided that she wasn’t pregnant and planned on putting her back in with the buck today. Day 32, which I know isn’t unusual, especially for a small litter. But, for whatever reason I felt like I should get out there and check after I got up this morning, and I’m SO glad I did!🫣

She wouldn’t keep the hay in the nest box at all since I put it in Thursday, so it was empty of hay this morning, and not enough fur to compensate for the lack of it. (Fur would’ve been the perfect amount had there been hay left in the box)

Just two little bunnies with some scattered fur. But! They were alive thank goodness!

I scooped them up, tucked them under my shirt, against my skin, and hurried inside to get them on a heating pad.

They warmed up nicely, but I’m thinking that one won’t make it…he was barely alive when I found him, and he’s warmed up but just not acting the same as the other. 🥲 we’ll see. I’d love for them both to thrive obviously!

Our other doe is due this time next week!

It’s a chilly start to the weekend over here!🍂I made some pumpkin muffins and I’m thinking it’s a good night for chili.🤔

Put the nest box in for Millie! Very impatient over here.🫣😂 she is due Sunday. Of course she is due on the first chilly weekend we have this fall lol! Hopefully she is pregnant…I’ve never been good at telling, and always convince myself they aren’t.😆

Also, put our Dutch pair together Wednesday. 🐰so, hopefully we’ll have our first litter of Dutch mid November, for some March butchering.

Hopefully this time next week we’ll have some baby bunnies! I’m excited and feeling impatient lol!

I’ll be giving Millie a nest box Thursday or Friday.

We will see how she does! This will be her first litter. 🤍🐰

I’m REALLY curious what colors will be in the nest box. Hoping for more BEWs honestly! She is BEW and dad is VM, so if I remember correctly, it is possible!

I really think her strengths in type compliment Elderberry’s, but we’ll see! Genetics can be interesting😂 I’d love to keep a buck from them.🤍
