Meet STATION 10 aka the kitten that fell into the CVS storm drain!!! Lori Van Kluyve helped identify the source of the cries. Dylan Collins, Antonio Lee Browner and Matthew Rich, of Engine Company 10 with the Augusta Fire Department immediately came to help with the rescue along with our Animal Control Supervisor and the Deputy Director as they worked together and successfully got this precious baby out of the storm drain. Station 10 was so happy to be saved! Once dry and warm, Station 10 ate and slept all day!!!

Station 10 “is not” available for adoption but should be soon.

It’s National Adopt-a-Cat Month!

June marks the height of kitten season, when animal shelters and rescues are often overwhelmed with nursing mothers and litters of kittens brought in by caring community members. To help make room for these deserving cats and kittens, we’re celebrating all month long with a special adoption promotion!

Through June 30, all cat and kitten adoptions at our shelter are just $20.

Wondering what comes with your new feline friend?

Every cat and kitten adopted from us is:
- Spayed or neutered
- Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
- Vaccinated against rabies if 4 months of age or older
- And of course a companion to cuddle up to after a long day at work!

There’s never been a better time to open your heart and home to a cat in need.

Please note that this promotion applies only to cats and kittens adopted directly through our shelter. Adoption fees for cats housed with our wonderful off-site adoption partners will remain unchanged at their respective locations.

Help us create space for more cats in need, and maybe find your new best friend along the way!

Have you been thinking about adding a puppy to your home? If so, we’d love for you to meet FARID! He is a five month old Beagle Mix (probably mixed with some Pittie), and a well mannered young pup. He walks pretty good on leash (may wander in circles around you but stays by your side and doesn’t pull, he is still learning). He is food, motivated, and gentle taking treats, knows sit, and loves pets and affection. He is playful and enjoys a few toys, and he is very happy to zoom around the yard with a tennis ball. He is a smart puppy and would love a person/family who can continue training him to be the best dog he can be. FARID gets along with other dogs and he is young enough that we think he could probably be integrated into a home with cats with a proper introduction. He is up-to-date on shots (for his age), neutered and micro chipped. If you would like to meet for FARID, please come visit him at Augusta Animal Services, 4164 Mack Lane, Augusta, GA during adoption hours Mondays 12-7, Tuesday-Saturday 12-4. FARID is looking forward to meeting his new family!

We had a wonderful weekend at Augusta Animal Services. It was filled with military volunteers (Saturday and Sunday) spending a lot of time with the adoptable dogs and the dogs and cats going for spay/neuter this week. Thank you to all that participated.

In addition, we are grateful for the volunteers who made Sunday-Funday possible and to everyone who stopped by to meet some of our shelter pets or adopt and take one home.
