🇺🇸 Today we’re taking a moment to appreciate all the hardworking people (and animals) who keep our families, farms, businesses, and communities going every day.

Whether you’re spending the day relaxing at home, working around the farm, firing up the grill, or soaking up a little extra time with your family and four-legged companions—we hope you have a safe and happy Labor Day! ❤️

🐾 From our family to yours, **Happy Labor Day!**

Do you know what you're looking at? 🔬
➡️ If your answer is “absolutely not,” don't worry.
This is exactly why veterinarians spend years learning things that look like 🎊 purple confetti 🎉 to everyone else.

A tiny sample viewed under a microscope can help us identify bacteria, yeast, inflammation, and other abnormalities—and that can directly influence diagnosis and treatment.

Because not every itchy ear needs the same medication.
Not every wound needs an antibiotic.
And not every “infection-looking” problem is actually an infection.

The microscope gives us information. Information helps us choose treatment. And choosing the right treatment is better than guessing.

What’s That?! Wednesday 👀

Those little “eyeball friends” hanging out in Ozzy’s eye may look a little strange, but they’re actually uveal cysts.

Uveal cysts are fluid-filled, usually benign, that arise from structures within the eye. They’re often incidental findings and may not cause a problem at all, but regular eye exams are important so we can tell the difference between something harmless like a cyst and changes that could indicate inflammation, glaucoma, or another ocular disease.

This is one reason routine physical exams matter—even when your pet seems perfectly healthy (because trust me Ozzy has not slowed down one bit). Some changes can be subtle or painless, and catching them early can make a big difference in protecting your pet’s health and comfort.

It’s officially **hot enough to make the devil sigh.** 🥵🔥

And if we’re feeling it, our pets definitely are, too.

Remember to:
💧 Keep plenty of fresh, cool water available
🌳 Make sure outside pets have access to shade
☀️ Save walks and playtime for the cooler parts of the day
🐾 Be mindful of hot pavement
🥵 Watch for excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or acting “off”

And don’t forget our farm friends—check water troughs often and make sure everyone has access to clean water and a place to escape the sun!

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and maybe don’t make any unnecessary trips through the gates of Hades this week. 😅

🐾 Vet visit tip of the week:

MAKE. A. LIST.

We absolutely do not mind when you pull out your phone and say…

“Okay, while you’re here…”

❓️ Can you look at this bump?
❓️ Is this ear normal?
❓️ What do you think about their weight?
❓️ Is this weird thing they do actually weird?
❓️ Oh! And I almost forgot…

Those little questions are part of the visit. Ask them!

We’ve been a little MIA on social media lately...

Between keeping up with appointments, soaking up the last little bit of summer with our families, and getting everyone ready to head back to school, the past few weeks have been BUSY!

Now that backpacks are packed and a new school year is getting underway, we’re getting back into the swing of things around here too.

Kids back in school = time to tackle that to-do list! If your four-legged family members are due for vaccines, preventatives, or a check-up, send us a message to get them on the schedule. 🐾
