🐱 It's officially kitten season...
Every spring and summer, tiny strays seem to appear out of nowhere—and with them come fleas, worms, upper respiratory infections, and occasionally some unexpected hitchhikers like this one.
This is a Cuterebra (bot fly larva) removed from a kitten. These parasites can cause a lump under the skin with a small breathing hole and are most commonly found in outdoor cats and kittens.

That’s a wrap for this week at Front Porch Veterinary Services! 🐾

Thank you to all of our wonderful clients for another week of trusting us with your pets — from wagging tails to farm calls and everything in between. We are so grateful for your support!

Just a quick update: Front Porch will not be scheduling appointments next week while Dr. Osburn is out of town providing relief veterinary services for another clinic.

Calls and text messages will still be monitored, but response times may be delayed throughout the week. Thank you all for your patience and understanding while we’re away helping care for pets beyond the porch!

✨️ Huge thank you to the team at Castaway Animal Clinic for taking amazing care of Sam this week. Being on the other side of the exam table is humbling, and I’m so grateful for compassionate colleagues.

At Front Porch Veterinary Services, I always strive to make sure your pets receive the same thoughtful, appropriate care and recommendations I would want for my own animals — even when that means helping direct you to additional care beyond what I provide mobile.

As a mobile veterinarian, there are certain advanced procedures and surgeries that require the staffing, monitoring, equipment, and hospital facilities of a full-service clinic. While I may not provide every specialty procedure myself, I’m always happy to help guide clients toward the right facility or specialist when more advanced care is needed. Having trusted colleagues and referral partners matters so much — not only for my own pets, but for yours too. 🐾

Very grateful for compassionate veterinary teams and for everyone checking in on Sam ❤️
