From the outside it may look like I just take care of animals, but my reasoning behind wanting to care for your animals is much more meaningful.
It brings me so much joy to serve others by taking something off their plate so they are able to make quality memories with their families!

The biggest compliment you could give us is bringing your dogs back time and time again! It’s always an honor to watch one family’s dog, and then that extends to other members of their families’s dog! We are so grateful to be a safe place for friendly dogs who thrive in a family environment!
Bear was one of the sweetest boys we’ve had the pleasure of caring for- a true gentle giant! We can’t wait to see him again! Thank you for trusting us with him🤎

Summer is right around the corner☀️🍉
The older I get the faster the months go by so it just makes sense that I’m already thinking about summer in February😂
As our summer months are starting to receive reservations, we just want to give you a friendly reminder to send in summer bookings as soon as you have them! We are working on a way to figure out how to accommodate all of our wonderful guests this summer since we currently only take a limited amount of dogs per day.
We will be taking off a couple weeks in the middle of August to enjoy summer with the kids! If you already have reservations with us, we are planning it around those days 💛
Please let me know if you have any questions! Again, we feel so blessed to be a part of your lives! Thank you for trusting us and continuing to use Rider Ranch for your furry family members!

Part 1 of Eleanor’s birth story!
Anybody who is getting started with goats- I can’t stress enough how important it is to have people that want to see you succeed in your corner! I bought Eleanor (and all my other goats) from Deanna and she knew this was going to be both of our first time kidding. She has been there for me to answer every single question and even coached me through the entire birth!!! God has put the most incredible people in my life and I’m so thankful!
This morning around 10:55am I went to check on Eleanor, not expecting anything to be happening, when I noticed her water had broke! Of course I went into full first time panic😂 especially since I had a meet and greet scheduled at 11!
Thankfully we found another incredible dog/Owner, who was very understanding of the chaos as we got ready to deliver these babies!
My sister and Mom stepped in to help and we waited for the contractions to get stronger! Since I have never delivered an animal before, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. Once we hit the 30 minute mark of her water being broken and me not seeing any babies we gave Deanna a call and she coached us through the whole thing! Praise God💛
I joked that my years of watching Vet shows prepared me for this very moment, to glove up and step in.
There is such a miracle in every birth, and it was so fun to watch and to have my family by my side!

Goat kidding hospital bag👜
Before I had my first child I would obsessively watch YouTube videos on what people packed for the hospital… these last few weeks I’ve been doing the same thing but about goat birth😂 here is the stuff that I have prepared!⬇️
Colostrum replacer NOT supplement: I didn’t realize there was a difference until my vet pointed it out. Colostrum replacers are complete products designed to replace maternal colostrum when none is available, providing full passive immunity and nutrients. Supplements are boosters intended to improve poor-quality maternal colostrum.
A bottle and ni***es just in case: I want to make sure I have everything on hand, if for whatever reason, they are not able to drink right away from their mom.
Iodine spray for their umbical cords: I was going to do umbilical clamps, but instead, I will be doing iodine spray to avoid any chewing on or messing with the clamp.
Snot sucker, gloves, clean scissors: I’m hoping to not have to use any of these, but I want to have them on hand just in case!
Electrolytes/ warm water and molasses: I was originally going to put electrolytes in their water after birth but now I will be doing warm water with a little bit of molasses to give Eleanor a little boost.
A sling and scale: This is so I could take the babies weight right after birth for their records and also to know how much BoSe to administer.
BoSe prescription from the vet: BoSe (selenium and Vitamin E) is an injectable prescription supplement used to prevent or treat White Muscle Disease in newborn goats, particularly in deficient areas
A primo heat lamp: Since we just had snow yesterday, I wanna make sure that these babies can stay dry and warm! These heat lamps are supposed to be safer with less risk of fire, but I will still keep a very close eye on it!

Clean towels: This is just to dry the babies off and get them warm and ready to nurse!
Lots of prayers: I am so excited and a little nervous because this is our very first time and it is her first time. I don’t want to let her down and I just want happy healthy babies and a happy healthy mama once they are here!

Am I missing anything?? Let me know below!

Nothing weighs on you heavier than wanting to help your husband provide for your family as well as not missing a moment of your kids lives...
My childhood self would be jumping up and down that one day I’d been surrounded but so many sweet dogs while having my kids right by my side helping! There is not a day that goes by that I don’t take inventory of what’s around me and praise the Lord for this gift!

A tired dog is a good dog! Anyone else agree?🙋‍♀️
We get so much feedback that our guest dogs sleep a lot when they get home and here is why we believe they do—
When your dog is with us, we do not just put them outside and consider it exercise. Every time your dog is with us, they get guided exercise either through fetch or walking, plus are stimulated mentally with everything a farm life has to offer, really giving them a chance to be a dog.
They are never outside by themselves, which means we monitor their energy levels the whole time they are with us. If they want to keep going, we keep going! If they have exerted an appropriate amount of energy for their age/breed/etc then that is when we come in and rest.
It is a labor of love because most dogs have so much more energy inside of them than we, as their owners, even realize. Life is so busy and often a quick walk or a few minutes of fetch is all we can offer them.
When your dog is with us, it is our job to make sure they are on a vacation of their own! And what does a dog love more than being on a farm and running in open fields?🤷‍♀️
If you are already a Rider Ranch client please make sure to send over all your 2026 boarding needs or doggy daycare days since we take a limited amount of dogs per day!
