AGA, a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue dedicated to Golden Retrievers, fully foster based & 100% run by volunteers. Based out of Atlanta

We do not reject any golden, no matter their medical or behavioral needs and work tirelessly to find their "furever family". We find warm, loving forever homes for Golden Retrievers to prevent them from being strays or adding to shelter overpopulation. Regardless of medical needs or age, dogs receive vet care, training if required and safe passage to a forever home.

ADOPTED! Sadie came to AGA after being found as a stray, and right away she captured the hearts of everyone she met! With her gentle personality, affectionate nature, and love for being close to her people, Sadie was ready to find a family to call her own.

Sadie’s new family had recently said goodbye to their beloved golden retriever and knew they had room in their hearts and home to love another. As fate would have it, Sadie (now Lady) was just the girl they needed!

She now has an amazing new mom and dad, along with two furry siblings - Gus, a 5-year-old golden, and a 15-year-old West Highland White Terrier. Lady’s new life will be filled with endless snuggles, endless stuffies, and fun adventures at the family’s lake house!

Lady has already met her new family’s grandchildren and done wonderfully with them. She’s especially attached to her new mom and is settling into her new life surrounded by so much love.

It’s safe to say Lady has found exactly where she belongs, and her family couldn’t be any happier to have her! We can’t wait to see all the wonderful memories they’ll make together. Happy tails, Miss Lady! 🐾💕

ADOPTED! Zoe Pup is the last of the K-Pop litter to be adopted. The eight littermates, plus their mom, dad, and older sister, golden pup, came to AGA when they were all surrendered to the Fulton County Animal Shelter. We welcomed all 11 dogs with open arms.

Zoe Pup, now named Hunny, has been adopted by an AMAZING family. Hunny’s parents work from home, and she has a nice, fenced yard to play in. PLUS, she will get to see and play with her littermate, Bunny (Romance Pup)! The littermates live close and will see each other on a regular basis since they were adopted by siblings (how fitting!!). Welcome home, Hunny!

ADOPTED! When 5-year-old Fin's family could no longer afford his care, they returned him to the breeder from whom they had originally purchased him as an 8-week-old puppy. Knowing Fin deserved a chance at a loving forever home, the breeder reached out to AGA for help.

When Fin entered the AGA program, it was clear that he had spent most of his life outdoors. Although he craved human attention, he was extremely timid and unsure of the world around him. Fin didn't know basic commands, was afraid of crates, nervous in the car, and had never really learned how to walk on a leash. His foster parents could see the sweet dog hidden beneath his fears. He simply needed patience, love, and someone to show him what life inside a caring home could be.

Before long, Fin began to blossom. He discovered the comfort of snuggling in bed with his foster parents, greeted the sight of a leash with an enthusiastic wagging tail, and gradually gained the confidence to meet new friends during neighborhood walks. As his confidence grew, so did his personality, and it wasn't long before he was ready to begin the search for his forever family.

Fin's new mom and dad are retired and had lost their beloved Golden Retriever last Christmas. While they deeply missed having a golden in their lives, they knew it would take a very special dog to fill the void left by their cherished companion. The moment they learned about Fin, their hearts filled with hope. They traveled from out of state to meet this sweet boy and quickly realized they had found the dog they had been waiting for.

After two visits, the decision was easy. Fin officially became part of their family and began his new life in a home complete with a large fenced yard, a swimming pool, and, most importantly, endless love and attention from his devoted mom and dad.

After waiting five years to discover the joys of being a cherished family member, Fin has finally found exactly where he belongs. Live your best life, Fin! 🐾❤️

Typically, fosters take in an orphan for 2-3 weeks, sometimes shorter and sometimes longer, while we find their perfect match.

ADOPTED! Ellie Pup came to AGA at just 8-months old. She arrived to AGA with 10 other dogs (including the 8 K-Pop Puppies) after their family experienced a loss and could no longer care for them. At just a young age, Ellie was very fearful of strangers, but with some time and patience from her foster, she started to come out of her shell!

Enter her new mom and dad! They were calm and patient with Ellie, and she felt comfortable with them right away. It was such a perfect match! Ellie is continuing to grow into a more confident golden, and we’re so happy she found a family where she can keep blossoming. Welcome to forever, sweet girl!! 💗

ADOPTED! Sweet Silver came to AGA at 5.5 years old after retiring from breeding. She is a gentle, quiet girl with an old soul. When Silver first arrived, she was still learning so many of the little things most dogs take for granted — feeling comfortable inside, gaining confidence, and discovering that life could be so much more than what she had known before.

It didn’t take long for Silver to begin blossoming in her foster home. With patience, love, and a little help from her foster sister — who quickly became one of her favorite companions — she started gaining confidence and learning just how good life as a beloved family dog could be.

Silver, now Maggie May, found the sweetest forever home with her new mom and golden sister, Bailey. She has settled in as if she’s lived there her whole life — lounging on her favorite quilt, choosing her favorite toys, following her mom room to room, and spending her days alongside Bailey. It’s safe to say Maggie May is finally right where she belongs. 💕 Welcome to forever sweet girl!

ADOPTED! Moon’s story began at a shelter in Georgia, where this sweet young boy was waiting for someone special to notice just how wonderful he is. That’s when AGA stepped in to help Moon on his journey to finding the forever family he deserved.

With his gentle personality, nice leash manners, and love for a good car ride, Moon had plenty of charm to share.

Then he met his perfect family, and it was truly love at first sight. Moon now has exactly what every dog deserves — a forever family, plenty of love, lots of playtime, and a lifetime of adventures ahead.

It’s safe to say his forever family loves their new boy to the Moon and back. Happy tails, Moon. We couldn’t be happier for you and your forever family.
