While working today I was thankful for equipment that allows us to perform dental work without discomfort and with a level of precision not previously possible. This is a picture of my ‘required’ equipment. I have much more - but most dental equilibration can be performed with this. I thought I would explain each piece, and why it is necessary. 1. Low profile disc. Permits addressing individual teeth - without touching the tooth next to it. Guarded (to prevent oral trauma), and requires less opening of the mouth. 2. Buccal burr - allows reduction of points without removing occlusal surface. 3. Allows fine profiling of First molars & canines. 4. For incisor equilibration. 5. To remove tartar from canines. 6. Well made speculum for complete exam. 7. LED headlight to view all teeth.
