❤️‍🩹 Theo Update - Thursday 10/22 ❤️‍🩹

Our little guy explored the deck at this foster home today. He really seemed to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Theo is continuing to hold his head up better and is a little less wobbly. And can we talk about those ears 😍😍😍?!?!

We will be consulting with Dr. Shepherd in the morning regarding the next steps in Theo’s treatment plan. Stay tuned and keep those get well wishes coming!

❤️‍🩹 Theo Update - Lunchtime Wednesday 10/21 ❤️‍🩹

Going, going, gone! Our little guy has a great appetite! From waiting for his bowl to licking it clean, Theo thoroughly enjoyed his lunch! We are still waiting for more information from the specialist, but Theo seems to be holding his head up better/straighter 👏💙! We will continue to keep you posted! Thank you for all the healing vibes, prayers and donations so far!

❤️‍🩹 Theo Update - Tuesday PM 10/20 ❤️‍🩹

Our little guy spent the day today with his new friends, Dr. Shepherd and team at North Roswell Veterinary Clinic. Today’s main goal was getting X-rays for which Theo was sedated. Theo appears to have an abnormality in his neck area so his X-rays have been sent to a specialist for review. After such a big day, Theo is exhausted, but has eaten well today and is resting comfortably with pain management. Tomorrow Theo will be spending the day in his foster home. As soon as we learn more from the specialist, we will share with this amazing fan club you all have formed in Theo’s honor! Thank you all for continuing to be there for Theo as we work to find answers and to help him however we can.

❤️‍🩹Theo Early Morning Update - Tuesday 10/20❤️‍🩹

We are happy to report that after a late dinner, our sweet Theo settled down and slept peacefully through the night 💙. He will be transported back to North Roswell Vet Clinic this morning for further diagnostics and monitoring as we try to get to the bottom of what is causing his pain and mobility issues. To those of you who have donated and sent your prayers and healing vibes, just look as what a difference your love has made. We will continue to try to get to the bottom of this mystery and give Theo the puppyhood he deserves!

❤️‍🩹Theo Update - Bedtime Monday 10/19❤️‍🩹

Our boy is wth his special foster for the night. In this video, you can see he is walking, but you can also see something isn’t right: he doesn’t lift his head for one thing. The video has already been sent to members of the team at North Roswell Vet Clinic . This visual will aid in determining the cause(s) of Theo’s ailments when he returns to the clinic first thing in the morning for more diagnostics. Thank you to everyone for your support so far. ❤️‍🩹Update on Theo - Monday, 10/19❤️‍🩹

We picked Theo up today from Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency. He is still stable, but still in pain. His pain drip was removed for the transfer to our vet, Dr.
Shepherd North Roswell Vet Clinic and until the supplemental pain meds kicked in, our little guy screamed and cried for the first several minutes of the car ride. Thankfully, the meds kicked in and he rode comfortably for the remainder of the trip. Having already reviewed his records, NRVC was ready to receive Theo. The priority was to restart his IV pain drip to make sure he is comfortable. He then had a snack and as you can see in the video (slide 5), he was ravenous! We are encouraged by his desire to eat! Theo has been examined by Dr. Shepherd and Jane. He is definitely painful around his neck and he is still anemic. Theo will go home this evening with our “critical care” foster for overnight monitoring and will return to NRVC first thing in the morning for a further work-up and monitoring to get a definitive diagnosis. On the bright side, Theo has stood a couple of times today briefly which is an improvement. Keep sending those healing thoughts and prayers that together we can show our boy how being a puppy should be!

❤️‍🩹Update on Theo❤️‍🩹

The good news first: Theo is stable. The wonderful staff at Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency are prioritizing controlling Theo’s pain via IV meds, so he is resting comfrotably. Also, Theo’s blood panels look good.

The bad news: Although several causes for Theo’s condition have been ruled out, we’re still not sure what exactly is going on. His pain seems to be isolated to the neck and shoulder area and he won’t/can’t use his back legs. All of his symptoms have led to two main possible diagnoses (not yet definitive) of trauma or an autoimmune disorder. Theo is being given steroids in addition to his pain meds. If we are dealing with an autoimmune condition, the steroids should help. Theo will spend another night in the ER as his pain is significant and oral medication is not sufficient for control of his pain. Our plan after Theo’s morning report on Monday is to pick him up and take him to our vet at North Roswell Vet Clinic for X-rays (which is more cost-effective for us). This is assuming he remains stable today and tonight.

We could use your help with Theo’s significant vet bills. This is a major unexpected expense coming on the heels of rescuing 5 dogs from Cobb County Animal Services almost 2 weeks ago…but we wouldn’t have it any other way. This 3 month old puppy needed us and we answered his literal cries for help. If you are able to contribute anything to help us help Theo, no matter how big or small, we would sincerely appreciate it. It’s “one of those days” today. The day started full of promise because we were open for adoptions, a chance to find loving forever homes for our residents. Our adoption hours were cut short by an abandoned puppy. This puppy, who we are calling Theo, was left lethargic in a laundry a basket by a lady who refused the resources and advice she was offered. She claims to have found this puppy behind a dumpster at a store 2 days ago. Only lifting his head to cry out, Theo was clearly in need of immediate medical attention. We immediately closed down our adoption day and headed for the emergency vet. Theo is is being treated as we speak for dehydration and will be going through a few other diagnostics while he spends the night at the hospital. We were able to hear him crying in the treatment area and it is heartbreaking. We will update as soon as we know more, but in the meantime, if you’re able to help with Theo’s emergency vet bills, we sure would appreciate it and so would he!
